Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) as reported are investigating the Nigerian president's announcement that he has banned the national side from competition for two years as punishment for their poor World Cup campaign and are threatening Nigeria with sanctions.

I just cannot help feeling the unnecessary and not forgetting the unbecoming of a world football federation. It is not as if the country is subjecting her players into some criminal jail or hard labor or denying them human rights which would warrant their action but one which a country deems fit to see to it that their players and their own football association would take this time to concentrate on restructuring their game and training.
What's wrong with that?
On the other hand, I feel that FIFA should actually look into the current fiasco of misbehaving players, team mutinies and of late cyber-bullying where it was reported that it had forced the South Korean coach into resignation.

FIFA should step in and hold the South Korea Football Federation responsible and help stop such derogatory acts from happening and protect the team as a whole.
Sorry to say this, FIFA you are really out of line here!

Yes, FIFA has been poking it's noses unnecessarily. I agree with you on this. In India we have a similar situation where politicians have hijacked most of the sports associations by winning polls thanks to their political strengths. Now our sports minister wants to bring in some rules that will restrict them from using it as their kingdoms and these politicians are quoting IOA rules against govt. interference else that India would be banned out of the Olympics!! It is ridiculous. I think bodies like FIFA and IOA should not unnecessarily interfere in the running of sports bodies within a country unless the situations in extenuating.
Cheers!
Ram
