it is indeed connsidered rude! it's just that, other people doesn't know about it. take for example my mom, she's not really into the internet, just checkin mails here and there.. and caps is convenient for her coz of quite a poor eyesight.. generally, some people just know know about it.

I agree fully there! I mean there is a caps lock button for a reason (no offence to your mum), but there's no reason for capatils to be used all the time, and as quite rightly said, no one tolerates it in real life so why take it on the net from people you've never met?

Yes, personally I think it is really rude. To me it looks someone is being loud and screaming.
It is just a way of getting attention or showing his annoyance.
i really hate such mails or messages from friends cooleague or anyone else for that matter.

I use dto but since being in here now for a few years I have realised some people actually need to type in caps becasue of their eyesight. So sometimes it has to be overlooked I think.

Yes it is rude. It is the equivalent of yelling, so if you are yelling at someone that is when you should use caps lock.

yes i think its rude, my cousin used to do it cuz she was new to the internet but when i told her about it that it seems like she is yelling, she kinda stopped, but when she does uses her caps she tells me she is not yelling:)

maybe. i always type in small caps. or maybe they don't know how to press the caps lock key. long long time agogo... my cap lock key also broken. until now i can't press the caps lock. so, there's no caps.

I find it really annoying when people write (or send text messages) in all caps. It's okay if you're emphasizing a word, but whole sentences? It's like I can hear the person screaming in my ear! If they're angry then that's just to show their feelings I guess that can be okay until some point but I really don't get people who type in all caps when they're just saying ordinary things.
