Pretend that You are God - Perspective

I'm just wondering how God listens and answers to all the prayers of many people. One will ask for his son's winning a football game. While the other one will ask for money to send his son to school...One will ask for good weather for their cruise. While the other one will ask for rain to save their crops...One will ask to help her lose weight so she can wear beautiful dress to the party. While the other one is asking to send them food to feed their family. If you were God, it't not hard to figure out which prayers you would want to answer first. But there is no wrong prayer even if you're just asking for a cruise, or something like that. But when we get a bit demanding with God and disappointed when He doesn't give us the luxury we want, it's time to get life back in perspective. We were told in the bible to pray about everything. But I think it is our needs that God has promised to supply when we are obedient to Him.

why should I pretend? .. I am GOD.. the omnipotent, omniscient, .. :D .. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- there seems to be a wonderful logic in the topic. .. I think, I have seen a movie .. made on these lines. unfortunately, today, PRAYER is just a list of demands, and wishes. It is not thanksgiving, for all that we are today. and, for the boons, and gifts that NATURE bestows on us, through all the wonderful climate, water, etc. all that we do is, BLAME GOD, FOR what all we don't have, and spoil the nature, by our negligence, and misuse. -------------- thanks for a great topic.

If I will be God, I will be sad to hear people blaming me for the prayers I did not meet, but forgetting always to be thankful when I answered their prayers...We should also know that God will provide our needs and not to be so much demanding. Thanks you.

I think that the idea of praying for whatever we desire is simply to offload the emotion burden of the demand to something external to us. That is, if what we desire comes true, it is the God's blessings that we should thank and if it doesn't come, it simply means the God has some other better plan. This way, our burden and pressure of facing failure is not as sever as without praying at all.

You are right, even if God doesn't answer some of our prayers, He has His own reasons. There is a purpose for everything that happens and does not happen in our life. Whatever it is, we still should be thankful in our prayers and not regard it as a failure from God's answers.

I'm not a Catholic, but let me have a try : You pray Your message is carried by some invisible opitcal fibres into that gigantic cloud in the sky That's where God is sitting on It's morning, he wakes up and fires up his computer He sees your message, "I want blah blah blah" He presses a button and your prayers are answered He opens another message and so on... The world is interesting when you add some imagination to it.

I think Gods wouldnot satisfy the unreasonalbe demands. When we pray for our wish, our heart will listen to the wish and remember that in later life.God's power can be exerted only through our own action. That power stays in our heart.

If I were God, I would listen to those prayers, that would ask for well being of Mother Earth. For her children to stop starving and suffering. The prayers asking to stop grabbing the money over all sensible limitations, to stop dirty and poisonous industry, to stop polution and to stop the cutting down the rain forest. I would support the prayers asking for better life of everybody on this planet. I would ignore the prayers asking for selfish wishes not bringing the benefit to everybody. We need to pray for changes in our needs and thinking and way of life, in order to save the world before it is destroyed.

It would be better if God will only answer prayers that would be good for everybody. But it seems sometimes God allows to happen some prayers that are only for the sake of the few and selfish things like graft and corruption, or for personal interest. It is also because of the free will that God has given the humanity. But I believe that even if God allows negative things to happen in this world, for sure, He has a purpose. He probably would like to teach the lesson to those people and see the consequences of their prayers.

The bible was written thousands of years ago when times were much simpler. The authors were well educated, at a time when university grads were at today's grade 2 level. The world was flat, and travelers worried about Falling over the edge. The God of the 21 century is not a Being, (as many people still like to believe)God is The Creator, which is Energy, which is everything you see with your eyes open. God is Love and the Energy of Love makes the world turn. there is an Old saying that says it all ~ God helps those who help themselves ~
