for science!! i recently started a discussion asking for help and advice in regards to the side affects ive been experiencing while being treated with steroids. prednisone specific. one of the worse affects is the mood swing roller coaster ride i been on. im either homocidal violent or bawling my eyes out. the other day i spiraled down from rage to suicidal.. and when it passed and i crashed into a dead sleep.. upon waking i started to theorize.. as i often do being the analytical OCD trip that i am when im trying to solve a problem there seems to be no answer for. maybe.. the mood swings and psychosis arent a direct affect of the roids.. but as a result of the sleep deprivation they cause. i havent slept more than an hour or two per night, if that, for the last 5 weeks, and when im awake.. im on fast forward at a million MPH. when i DO sleep.. i wake up to dreams that wont end. a kind of a waking walking nightmare thats become very scary. the brain and body NEED that rest and REM to recover on a daily or it does horrific things to a person.. and im not even getting a days worth over a weeks time. so ive decided to test the theory.. and force the sleep, or at least down time if i dont manage to achieve unconciousness.. even if im on hella fast forward, i will make myself lay down and meditate towards sleep.. and see how it changes the occurances of the mood swings, if at all. dunno if this possible solution will help anyone else who is currently on steroid treatment.. or may be in the future.. but hopefully it might keep someone from experiencing this. are you / have you been on steroid treatment for whatever reason? did you go through the mood swings and insomnia? how did YOU contend with it?

My mother used to take steroids before for her asthma but eventually, she stop on using such medication. Because she always been complaining the side effects that she always experienced but then, the doctor gave her another medicine as substitute for steroids.

I know a friend who used to go through predisone for some sickness. As time passed her bones became brittle and one day she fell from the steps and had a hip dislocation. i dont know about the mood swing...But the doctors do say it will have side effects. Specially putting on weight.
