Nice to know how our politicians feels about the men and women who entered the armed forces and sworn an oath to "support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic", Anyone who thinks this is a Obama issue think again the reports were initiated during Bush's time in office. So it is ok to swear your life on the constitution its just not ok to believe it actually means anything? What do you think?

Evan, anyone that knows anyone that is in the military knows that it is entirely different than the real world. Some people transition fine, other don't, and that is life. Our government trained the men and women to kill people, and they are the best in the world at that. But, what they do after they leave the military with all of that training doesn't always work out well. To make you more upset, what the government is doing to them, they are doing to many of us. And the Patriot Act makes it all legal.

What happened to innocent until proven guilty? Yes I know this another fallout of the patriot act but come on this insane. This same committee came out with a report saying liberals were a threat now its right wing veterans? I think this whole committee needs to go and anyone who supports this crap shouldn't be in government.

Evan, innocent until proven guilty is a joke today. Today it is guilty until proven innocent, and we all are to blame for this. You so have to understand that many of these committee's are fighting for their funding, and their political life. So, if they make it appear as if the country needs them, then they will continue to operate. Very much like how the Military, and the pentagon works. Fear sells in politics, and make a lot of people a lot of money.

Wow, how can people discriminate the soliders that used their lives to protect their country?
It's just incomprehensible.

Its happened time and again in history even in united states. Before the onset of WW2 a not so famous military leader led an assault on its own citizens at the order of the white house against unemployed veterans. That General became famous during WW2, it was General Patton.

Do veterans enjoy privileges in the United States? (eg. medical stuff)

As a person who spends her time daily with veterans, I am so disgusted by this. These brave men and women gave everything to fight for our freedom as well as complete stranger's freedom. The way we treat them, the way people speak to or about them.....disgusting. We treat prisoners better than our soldiers.
By the way, isnt that oath awfully close to the one our President stumbled over?

Presidential oath: "I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States."

Things like this irritate the he11 out of me and my husband, who served in Vietnam. I was not impressed by the comments made by the national commander of the VFW either. Our veterans should not be looked upon as posing a possible internal security threat which needs to be assessed, but should be seen for who they are...highly trained & skilled Americans who would be among the first to respond to an attack on this country.

Yep the VFW commanders seems to be right with them, they didn't need to word it different they should of just kept their mouths shut and spent their time on solving the real problems in this country.

Some thanks...go fight a war...come back and your government looks at you as a "possible terrorist threat".
You know...maybe if we treated them with the respect they deserve..this would not even be an issue or a consideration.

Well one can only wonder if you swear an oath to the constitution and they feel that as a threat than who is the real threat the patriotic veterans or the people who see patriots as a threat. My feelings are anyone who views them as a threat or doesn't uphold the constitution shouldn't be in any government capacity.

From reading that news article I got that the government thinks that people are a "threat" that don't agree with what the government is doing. Wow..that is a lot of people. Most of this country is not happy with the direction is going.
It is not a domestic terrorist threat that these people pose...it is a threat to these politicans jobs...because we will vote them out. So ya...I can see how politicans can see them as a threat...a threat to them keeping their jobs.
lol.
