The National Federation of the Blind's (NFB) web site has a free course to become certified with the National Library of Congress as a braille transcriber. I think you have to be in the US to take the course for free by correspondence (postal mail), but they do have an online version of their textbook that you can look at for free. It's an intense course but by the time you are done with it you should really know literary Braille very well.

Do a web search of "learning braille" & you will find numerous sites that teach Braille online. I didn't go to any of the sites to see how long they take, but if you do your research, I'm sure you can get further information. Good luck with your studies!!!
