How it is to love.

It was late Saturday night, when I opened the television. I was transferring from one Channel to the other until a talkshow caught my attention. The discussion was about love. I remembered the host say, you can never love anyone at all unless you love yourself first. Even the bible say this. " Love your neighbors as you love yourself." Although the sentence is constructed in a way to focus on "neighbors", it never failed to mention the word, "yourself". This is the basis on how we should be loving others. For some reason God wanted us to love, take care, and motivate ourselves. I was personally struck by this. Sometimes I tend to look down on myself, my talents and my capabilities with self pity. Now I realized it is wrong. We must take high regards of what he has given us and on who we are. Not in a way for us to be proud and boastful. But for God's glory to be seen in us. We are his reflection and signature in this world. Today I woke up with a decision. To look at myself like I never did before so I may do the same to others.
