you can see the code from the best web design website, and view the code, copy and change it .You can learn more from practice. Practice is important to web designing.

Search youtube for video tutorials. I am sure you will find a great deal to watch. As for seeworld's advice (go look at best sites code) I think this is very hard and wrong for a starter. You are sure to get confused as nowadays the online apps might be rather complicated for people with some web design background. Being a newcomer You might get lost there completely. So start with online tutorials (better video, so that you could see exactly how to do) on HTML and CSS. After that you will have a better understanding os sripts (PHP,JS) and CMS. Good Luck!

You can try joining SFI (for FREE) and access our "Free Internet Income Course" inside our training website written by George Little. There you can find top-of-the-line tutorial on how to effectively design and launch your web project.

For me, the most difficult hurdle to overcome is understanding CSS (or cascading style sheets). I finally learned about this CSS thing from http://960.gs/ where I learned about the layout of websites. After that, I gained enough confidence to tinker with the coding of the webpage. A few months later, I designed my own BlogSpot template with code taken and reused from other templates that I found on the internet.

While you can learn from tricks, best practices and etc from book or online on how to use software like PhotoShop, you will still need to have flair for designing. This is something that you can't learn from anywhere.

http://www.wix.com/ is the very good site from where u can learn something. There are many dommy templates which make you help regarding creating your own one. And html and css are the base where scripts are the backbone of any sites development.

There's a lot of tutorials out there, you just have to look in the right places. Surprisingly I found YouTube most helpful. There are a bunch of tips and tutorial videos on the site. Just search "web design" or "website tricks" in the YouTube search engine.
