My friend rocketj introduced me to the concept of using cool whip light to make "ice cream sandwiches" using chocolate covered graham crackers for the tops. Eating cool whip frozen right out of the container tastes so much like ice cream it's amazing. It's so creamy it beats ice cream for creaminess. Thanks rocket!

Ok my question is Is it less fattening than ice cream?? Nothing can be better than ice cream. But if it has less fat and calories then I am willing to try. I guess i will look at the tub and compare the nutrition charts thanks for the info

Oops, forgot to check that out. The way I've been eating lately it wouldn't have mattered one bit. It was just tasty!

A tablespoon is such a subjective measure when talking about whipped cream. The container says a serving consists of 2 tablespoons for 20 calories, 10 of which come from fat. The container has 25 servings so if you pig out and eat the whole thing that's 500 calories. One cup = 16 tablespoons. So 8 tablespoons (1/2 cup) is 80 calories. That's not bad. For an "ice cream" that rich I think it's a deal! Now to figure out what a tablespoon actually consists of. :-D

I LOVE eating frozen Cool Whip, lol! The texture is so different and yummy. That sounds like a good idea to make "ice cream sandwiches" like that; I think I'll try it next time I have Cool Whip on hand. ^o^

Actually the sugar free and fat free cool whip taste alot better then the Ice creams they have out. We have been freezing it and eating it like ice cream for years..add a drizzle of chocolate sugarfree syrup a few fat free/lowfat cookies..yum..good tasty treat..

It's new to me but I'm using it instead of ice cream. I haven't seen any sugar free, just fat free. Sometimes I mix sugar free chocolate syrup into the cool whip for chocolate "ice cream." Maybe next time I'll just drizzle the chocolate syrup on it.

Somewhere in my memory banks I recall a chocolate flavored cool whip. I don't know if it's still available.
