I will go to Manila this Friday. This is my first time to travel in a far place. Far from my home. It would be my first time to take an airplane. Gosh, I am so nervous. And I am not familiar in Manila so i really need a map and some friends who live there. I didn't know I feel so excited and scared. I just hope nothing bad will happen to me while staying there. This is one of my fears. Being away in my hometown and being separated with my family for 4 days. I feel soooooooooo...... nervous.... But I guess everything will be ok.

By this time, I guess you are already gone. I'm sure you'll be fine. I was 19 the first time I went far away from my family. I went from the U.S. all the way to Australia. I wasn't too nervous though. I was too excited to be nervous! But that was in 2000. That was before 9/11. I probably would have been more nervous had my trip been after all the terrorist cr*p we have going on right now.

Travel is something that you must enjoy. It is one of the best educational experiences one can undergo in life. Doing it alone gives one a sense of excitement because of the the unknown. Traveling in Manila could be quite a breeze because there are a lot of people that will be eager to help get on your way in case you become somewhat lost in the maze of its streets. Try to keep some sort of journal for your travel. It is something that would be worth reading when you reminisce about this first trip.

Everything would definitely be okay, and just remember, there's always a first time for everything. I do hope you enjoy your stay in Manila, it may be confusing, but Manila is fun and there are a lot of places to go to. My first trip on my own, was when I went to college, and I rode a bus by myself to go to manila, I was so nervous, but in the end it all went well, and after a few more tries, I don't have any problem travelling alone anymore.

We're on the same boat--err---plane. LOL. I am also going to Manila by plane to attend the premier of "Pink Halo-halo" and I am also nervous because I am also a very lousy traveler. I am scared of plane rides. OMG.

Anything you do the first time of course is exciting and jittery. After your first trip, everything will be as normal as before. Even your first trip by air is quite scary but you will enjoy being in the plane the second time. I wish you happiness and enjoy your stay in Manila. Manila is a busy place and a lot of opportunity can be found here, only if you know how to. Good luck and God bless you in your stay in the city.

I saw from your profile that you are from Cebu. Why will you go to Manila? I haven't tried riding in an airplane. I am from Bulacan and I can say that the farthest place that I have been to is in Baguio. I think it's okay to be a bit nervous but don't let it ruin your trip. Enjoy you trip and try to have something to learn from your experiences. Ingat!
