This is the Feast Day San Buenaventura, The Patron Saint for Our Children, w/c is also the Birthday of our youngest child, it is in my experience that as the Day approaches children are more prone to being sick, it could be the weather or Bad spirits or just coincidence, but to my knowledge This Holy Day we have to prepare PUTO and other pinoy made delicacies to drove those viruses, bacteria, whatever that inflict harm to the little ones, I could not explain further, but, this has been our tradition that was past on from our ancestors (just decades ago i think} my wife always prepare paladusdos ( i hope i get it right} and putong puti and ginataan Do you know about this date, do you celebrate it like we do..

yeah, I remember that day. I saw a fanpage on facebook last day that says something like this "there's a mother's day, father's day, how about children's day" and I remember that we do have children's day, I just forgot what do we call it. Thanks to you, I remembered it, we call it San Buenaventura and my mom and my neighbors always prepare PUTO or KAKANIN, and we share it to each other, so we have different kinds of puto in our house courtesy of our neighbors. LOL But that was before, we do not celebrate it anymore, I think even our neighbors don't celebrate it anymore. I don't know why, maybe it was suddenly forgotten since there are only few who celebrate it.

it's the feast day of San Buenaventura tomorrow. :) My mom reminded me that, when we were talking about my nephew and I found out that she still celebrate it every year, I am just the one who forgot it I think. LOL. Maybe because I really don't know the exact date of it.

I'm sorry but I'm not aware of this celebration. I know about San Buenaventura but I didn't that we celebrate a feast day for him like this. I guess the sickness are just coincidential, you might want to take them to the pediatrician.

We do have fiest of Sto. Nino here and there's always a parade of people and children with their small idol or statue of the sto nino and some even actually have dance with it for good luck or blessings. no, we don't do feastings since we don't have the money.

Honestly this is my first time to learn about the Feast day of San Buenaventura and the association of being prone to sickness of the children. I'll just go to church maybe and if possible try to buy puto. There's no harm in trying to do it I guess. But I just hope that it's just a coincidence and just maybe because of the weather, like it's very hot in the morning, then suddenly it will just rain heavily in the afternoon. Thanks anyways.
