I was cheking for parsley at the search bar for my last post and I stumbled with a site that explained how wonderful and healthy parsley was. I didn´t have the last idea that parsley has lotsa of vitamin K, so important to avoid cramps. But this is still more imoportant for smokers or exsmokers (as I am). Parsley contains something that, it seems will prevent lung cancer. It says: "Parsley's volatile oils-particularly myristicin-have been shown to inhibit tumor formation in animal studies, and particularly, tumor formation in the lungs. Myristicin has also been shown to activate the enzyme glutathione-S-transferase, which helps attach the molecule glutathione to oxidized molecules that would otherwise do damage in the body. The activity of parsley's volatile oils qualifies it as a "chemoprotective" food, and in particular, a food that can help neutralize particular types of carcinogens (like the benzopyrenes that are part of cigarette smoke and charcoal grill smoke)." THAT is really a plus. I have some parsley in a pot to use as a herb for cooking but I´m planting a lot more for parsley dumplings, fritters and omelettes. All of them are yummy, besides their healthy side. I confess I´m not the kind of person who will eat something that tastes bad for the ske of health. Isn´t this a good finf, friends? Are you a parsley eater? Share,

I very seldom ever use parsley, I have some on hand but never knew much about it. I thought about all it did was add a little color to bland looking foods, lol. I have never used any fresh parsley. Thanks for the good info.

I believe in the power of Parsley. We really need them for good health. Where can we get seeds of that? I am interested to plant Parsley in my father's farm here in the Philippines. Can it survive the tropical climate of the Philippines?
