In my wildest dreams

It is only natural that as human beings we have dreams that we hope will come true in our lives. It could be something that is relatively simple or it could be something that is very, very complex. So, tell me, what is your wildest dream of something that will happen to you in your life? For me it is that I will be a wildly successful published author. I'm thinking I want to be an author that has a cult following much like Stephanie Meyer has created for herself with the Twilight saga.

I want to be a successful real estate investor and stock investor. Unfortunately, I don't really have the money to get started doing either one right now. I have been interested in the stock market since I was a kid, but I didn't think I could get started investing without a pile of money, so I didn't buy any stocks when I was single and living at home and could afford to do it. However, now I know that I can get started doing it easily, but now I don't have the money to get started right now. I have been interested in real estate for a long time as well. I want to get a real estate license, but that isn't really in the cards right now either, so I will have to wait a little while on that as well. I like real estate. I like the buildings and the houses and stuff like that. I wanted to start buying houses and flipping them, but with the shape the economy is in right now, I don't think now is the time to start trying to get rid of houses. I know it isn't too late to start working on these dreams, because I am only 32 years old, but I need to work on getting some debt paid off and work on my credit score and things a little before I start trying to get into real estate investing. In the meantime, I am going to start trying to save some money so that I can start buying mutual funds at some point before the end of the year. Maybe then I can start making progress towards the dreams I have wanted for so long...

I found a mutual fund that you can start investing in for only $1,000. I heard about it watching THE CLARK HOWARD SHOW. He recommended it to a caller that called the show to talk to him, and I started doing a little research on it. I ordered the prospectus, but I haven't read all of it yet. I will probably try to buy into it when I can save the money. That will at least be a start...

That is a great idea. I love listening to THE CLARK HOWARD SHOW. I listen to it on podcast in the evening after the children are in bed and I've gotten a lot of great information out of it. I don't honestly think that our situation in our family would be as good as it is right now if it weren't for my listening to him.

You are definitely not too old to work on those dreams, that's for sure. However, you are also right about the real estate market right now as well. It is a very difficult time to try to sell any real estate. My husband and I bought our house when the market was declining, but before it completely tanked, so we will eventually make money off of our house, but not right now.

Before or after Paul McCartney sends me enough money so that I can do whatever I want? Seriously, I would want to be financially well off enough so that I can stay home, learn piano, write if I want to, travel if I want to, work with animals, spend more time with my kids, learn another language, etc.

LOL. I need to find a group of people to go in together with and start playing. Heck, I don't care at all to share the wealth.

The idea of having enough money to be able to do whatever we want with the rest of our lives is certainly a great dream to have. I too would like to have that happen to me in this lifetime, but I don't see it happening unless I was to win the lottery (and that is pretty hard to do when you don't play it).

Same as everyone.. to get rich by doing absolutely nothing.. then spend the rest of my life doing absolutely nothing of importance aside from having fun with my money. I wouldn't want to be famous in any way, that just opens the door to so much drama that I don't want in my life. I would never want the whole world interested in what I'm doing and why. I like my privacy.

I tend to like my privacy as well, but I think that there is some part of being famous that you have to be able to deal with if I am going to be a published author.

My wildest dreams include having a fabulous beach house in Boracay, a famous beach in our country. And to work at home and be part-time beach bum. :-) I just love the beach and the feeling of living near the sea, with lots of open space around me. Another dream includes living in the penthouse of an upscale condominium in New York. I guess I wouldn't get tired of watching the city lights every night.

I don't know that I would personally be able to handle the city lights night after night. However, as far as the beach house goes, that really is something that I would like to be able to have in my life.

well my wildest dream isn't about vampires , but it is a love story. It's not that wild either. i am a gay male and the guy was my best friend 3 years ago. He decided that he finally realized that he loved me, and to see past his resentment towards me. His whole background story is really what i think makes me love him so much. But then again, do you really love someone you pity, or do you just feel overwhelmingly sad for them? sigh.

That is a difficult question to answer. I don't think that I could come up with a way to explain how I would feel toward someone if I was in that kind of a situation.

I agree with you dorannmwin, for me just keep dreaming because if you stop your life will be wasted. Just dream and as time goes by you'll see that you slowly achieves it.

I will never stop dreaming because I think that it is the essence of our existence. I always feel very happy when I've achieved one of the dreams that I have in my life.

I totally understand you, I'd like to be a successful published author too - just not quite the same kind of books you'd write, but the dream will be the same. I like how wild dreams grow with people, just a couple of years ago, I wished I could become a famous ballet dancer, having enough money to go to the Julliard in the USA. Then I had to quit my own Company because of health diseases and I quit dancing as well. So my dream changed a lot as well - even if I still wish to dance again, and I hope it will happen, sooner or later. :)

Well, the book that I'm working on right now isn't a vampire novel and I honestly don't think that I'd be able to write a novel in that type of genre because that genre has been done and done over again. I like writing fiction in general though. It is weird like you've mentioned to see how our dreams do change as we as individuals change.

hi grrrrrr my second response as my first one just now flew away and I am sitting here saying, what was that all about? So second try not as good perhaps but I too have the same dream . Only I don't care about vampires. I have written so many things but still am unpublished. Now my dream is to write my autobiography. I did start about two chapters then my writing just turned into a journal of the goings on in the dining room with all the odd characters here. I don't really know if I will do anything with my journal but I have had fun doing it. Now I have run out of paper so will do some shopping. Don't know if my dream will ever come true but am having fun doing it.

Well, first off, I don't dream about writing a vampire novel at all, I just want to write something that would be able to have that kind of a cult following. I love writing and it has been a hobby of mine since I was in elementary school and I'd just love to be able to make something of it.

Well, I think that it would still be possible to be a published author if you still had both the desire and the ambition to do it. But if one of those things is missing then I agree with you that it probably won't happen. That said, the dream of companionship and your own place to live is a great dream to have for your life.

My wildest dream is to travel the world and live in many different places. I love learning about and experiencing different cultures! This is not something I would want to do now, but when I am a bit older and finished school. Hopefully, this is not just a dream and I will actually be able to make it happen one day.

You've definitely hit on another of the things that I really enjoy doing. I love travelling and I also really like to learn about cultures that are very different from my own. Thank you for sharing your dream with me.

I dream that I could travel to the deepest part of the earth's waters and appreciate the beauty of the unknown world. I always loved being in the water.

That I agree would be an awesome experience. Just like you, I'm also the kind of person that has always loved being in the water. I've been addicted to water for nearly as long as I can remember and now I have two children that are much the same way as I am.

I'm surprised that you haven't had dreams of things that you would love to come true but that probably won't that continue to stick with you.
