What are some fun activities to play/teach/learn with my 18 month old infant daughter? She's already genius level.. talking, recognizing things that she shouldn't even have a clue of what they are at her age and very clever. She speaks and anunciates better than my nephew and he's 3 years old. I read her books and let her listen to music. I try to shield her from watching too much tv... but now that she's almost 2.. I feel like we should be doing a bit more. When I took her to the doctor last week, her doctor said she was even intelligent enough to potty train NOW. What do you all do with your infant children that are fun activities that they can learn from??

My daughter loves to color. You could try finger painting. You could even get her some flash cards. Just don't force her to do them. I have some really fun alphabet ones by sesame street, that way she starts to see letters and until she learns them she can tell you what the picture is. Leap frog also makes a tag jr that she might enjoy, my daughter loves her but she has the jr and the regular one. Also build blocks with her. As for potty training if she shows an interest then support that, I was lazy and waited until my daughter was almost three, I know I could have done it much earlier if I would have worked with her more. Also for out side chalk and bubbles are wonderful. Get her toys, if you don't already have them, like legos that she can start to build with. Get color flash cards and shapes too she might just suprise you again. If she wants to learn then get her things that she likes and show an interest in you could even make some flash cards together or let her scribble on one with a color to teach her color. Also maybe a few cans of play doh and a simple set of tools or use tools around the house, plastic sliverware, straw, round building block for a rolling pin whatever you can find. Let her explore as much as she wants.

Aww I will try all of those things. She has woodfoam blocks that she loves to play with and she even plays with them in the bathtub. She has a little Spongebob laptop because she loves the computer and that gives her a chance to play and have her own PC. She has an assortment of toys, books and learning tools that she enjoys. But, out of all of that, she loves her blanket. She embraces it and will go nowhere without it. I will try new things and teach her new things.
Thanks for your comment!!

A favorite of ours is storytime at the public libraries in our area. I have a three and a half year old of my own and I also provide childcare for my three and a half year old niece and 23 month old niece so I am constantly looking for enrichment type activities for them. There is also children's museums that are always fun for children of all ages. Your daughter may also be old enough to be in different mommy and me classes like gymnastics or something like that. Also, remember that it is important for her to spend time with other children her age.

My son was very smart like that. It is important to feed her ability to learn. I would do some picture identification ex..have her pick animals and maybe even coin identification...start her counting and her ABC's. I potty trained my son at 12 months because he was walking and could tell me he was wet. I bribed him with a cookie to get him to pee in the potty. I would also be considering the fact that if you teach her now these things that when she gets into school...she will be bored. She won't be learning anything. You'll have to have the school put her in a program that is not to much but not to little. They wanted to pass me from the first grade to the third grade and my grandparents wouldn't let them. I wished they had because I was bored.
