...do you read all the answers already given to this discussion, before you give your personal answer? Or do you only read the discussion proposed of the mylotter who opened the discussion?

I read them all and often add comments to the responses that are already posted. Then I add my own iof I still have something else to say. We are told in the Guidelines to read all the responses before posting our own and I doubt that we earn if we post something already stated in a previous response.

We can add our own comments while reading them too. We earn for everything that we type, including comments, so our day would not be entirely wasted

Reading all responses before posting our own opinion would give mylot a better qualification, but sometimes we don't have enough time to read and respond to everything. There are many interesting comments to read and to learn from the other users that we could stay in most part of the day.

i read some responses to make my post different from what they have said.i think we have to read all posts before sharing our thoughts but sometimes when the discussion is really full, like so many responses you might have not much time to read all of them. for some i also like to comment on their responses before sharing my own response to the certain topic.

That's right, some discussions recieves so many answers that makes reading of all comments really difficult. We often need time read all of them. Sometimes I get lost reading and when I realize the time left, I already have to shut down my PC and cannot write any comment.

yes,you are absolutely right,my friend! sometimes i want to read those responses to learn from other members here but seems like if i read them all i would have not much time to respond and give my own thoughts regarding the topic,so sometimes i just read the topic and the starter's speech then go directly to write my response.

I read at least the first page, sometimes the second if there is a variety of answers, and if I have a totally different answer than the usual, I make a try.

That's a great point of view to avoid repetitions, so it makes discussions more interesting.

Mylot is a right place to build up our english knowledges for those who are not coming from an english speaking country. Practising english and learning even others makes mylot so interesting.

It depends. For a new discussion like this, I usually read the replies before me to see if I can contribute more or just express my opinions. For older discussions with lots of responses already, I limit myself to read may be the first page and then if I am so inclined, put down my response. If I think it is really interesting, then I go back when I have more time and read the rest of the responses. I learnt a lot from these discussions and the responses...so I do try to read them through. But sometimes I don't have enough time to go through them all.

That's true, it's not easy to read through all comments and to post something new. We could spend a complete day only on reading the posts of some discussions, as they recieved so many answers from so many different users.

I do both, it just depends on the discussion. I do usually browse over them though to get the just of what they wrote. So I don't repeat whats already been said, unless I have the same opinion as someone and just feel that something needs to be added.

Even if we repeat sense what others already posted, we never use the same words to give our answer. That makes posting so interesting.

if it pulls up the responses for me I will read them and then try to respond to one that is already there. here lately it seems like they are not pulling up for me to read so sometimes it is after I post that it decides to show me the responses. i think it's just my browser. lol.
