I have come across so many cases like this in line of work, while its still debatable and questionably legal in our country.. I have seen several cases like this in Hospitals.. Folks signs a waiver and pulls out the life support mechanisms which knowingly kills their patient.. and they break down and cry as though they have nothing to do with the death... this is technically similar to lethal injection. Some folks refuse to feed enterically and parenterally their comatose elderly patient, signs a waiver, and claims for the insurance proceeds.. in a way we are putting one's life in our hands and decide who lives and who doesn't... Is mercy killing justifiable? Should Euthanasia be a option for terminally ill patients? should Man decide who lives and who no longer needs to live? What are your thoughts?

Practically speaking, I agree with Euthanasia as an option for terminally ill patients, weather connected to my life or not. For me, your helping the patients by cutting his/her suffering and also you in terms of economics. this is for not wasting time, money and effort. It is normally goes with the word unethical. for me its better and hoping others may understand weather they are rich or not.

Whether we accept it or not, many people already practicing euthanasia and for them it is justifiable since it is for the sake of all of the persons involve. If we will consider the one written in the bible, that God is the only one who has the right to choose when to get a persons life, then in some way it becomes unjustifiable. But it still depends on the situation, if they really think that it is the only way to settle all things, others are not hesitated to do so. At first, you will really think that it is wrong, but as you consider many things and you will think wisely, you will come up with a decision that you think is the right one. And whatever that decision is, you have to face the consequences it may brought, and you have to stand up on it because it will reflect if it is justifiable or not.

I think euthanasia is okay if the person wants it or has written up a living will. I think it also okay when the person is in severe pain (an probably will be for the rest of his/her life) or if they are in a vegetative state. I think that if I knew that the rest of my life would be restricted to a hospital bed with a terminal illness or a brain injury, I would want someone to help me end it. Here where I live, the government is researching euthanasia because they are considering decriminalizing it and making laws for regulating it use.

I believe if a person is suffering and in pain and no chance of recovering they should be allowed to have euthanasia...we put animals to sleep to put them out of their misery! I think this is the kindest thing to do...

gosh i suddenly remembered the debates we had in high school. this is the very same topic and i couldn't recall which side i was. well, the grown-up me thinks that in dealing with this issue the financial status of the family involved should be considered. i believe some families who choose this option simply cannot afford to sustain someone who is surviving only through life support. just consider a situation where they still have kids to care for. some think it would be better to keep the money for the future of their children. don't you think the dying grandparent/old person would wish to do the same for the children? sorry if i sound a bit heartless. i personally have never gone through situation like this.

Whether Euthanasia is justifiable or not, response may vary from one religion to another, or from one belief to another. Like the ones from the Christians, they do believe that God gave our lives so, He's also the One who have the right to take it away from us. But in such cases like when a person is terminally ill and that there is no chance for that person to recover anymore, then the family can do this. Rather than lengthening the life of the person you love but let him suffer the pain and the pity he can have or either let yourself suffer from all of the burdens from the bills you can have just to keep that person alive.
