yup, that's alarming. I just watch the news and it's stated that 30% is left for Calamity Fund and the rest were used last year, but rumors said Arroyo took some of those for her pork barrell in her district. Almost 325 Billion budget deficit and What remained is only 40% of the national budget, but Pnoy has just got in! Where are they gonna get money for funding Government agencies and projects

Those numbers are alarming. Former President Arroyo for sure had something to do with it. We know how corrupt she and her family are. This is one of the challenges President Noy will inherit. We all need to cooperate and save especially newly elected local and national politicians. I know one day our country will be free of corruption so we can all move forward and contend with other South East Asian countries.

some said it's natural and it was surprising that she left a few million pesos for the next administration.

If this is the case that there are no more budget, most probably, there will be borrowings again from foreign countries. I don't know where did the Arroyo administration spend the money allocated for the country. I hope the new administration will be able to balance the finances.

Jueteng will fill in the gaps of budget deficit it pnoy will allow it and will take it. If not we will be borrowing billions of dollars again and the Philippines will be in deep hole again and again. If they can succeed in persecuting arroyo they might get some money. .haha

Hello Xenon, Noynoy was very clear on the issue of Jueteng and said he won't approve such.i believe it was peping who opened up that issue but Pnoy refused it.

Why are you surprised? What I am surprised is that she even left something for the next administration. Where could she have probably spent over 70% of the annual budget when there were no calamities this year and of course, technically, she cannot spend government money on election. I suppose we will have to tighten our belts just to get through this year. Then next year we use it around her neck.

Hello advocate. Not really, we don't have salary increase in the education sector, knowing that more people get rich in politics and still government services sucks which explains why corruption is real and not fantasy, the only fantasy is when they all get exposed. you really gonna hate the previous administration now.

I thought the government never had budget every since. I mean, they always say that! I think I have been hearing that for many times already that there's no budget in the government, this and this and that and that. For me, its not alarming anymore. Maybe that's our new president's challenge. I think he needs to do something about that.

Hello P3ks626, GOvernment Corrupts, i don't know how this new Administration is going to handle it. but it really smokes on my years knowing that that's the only left of the budget. now i can understand why Noynoy is very angry with the previous administration.

In Tagalog term, its what we call "kinurakot ang pondo". Ask Arroyo the account numbers of all the banks where those money where siphoned. The check intercepted by PNB worth 2.1 million pesos nearly encashed by a former PAGCOR employee, that is just the tip of the iceberg.

It seems that most recent governments (certainly UK and US) find themselves in a similar position. They are all facing the difficult position of balancing their political popularity with the measures they have to adopt in order to try to right the situations which they inherited from their predecessors.

Hello Owlings, Yeah, inheriting the problems of the previous administration really gives trouble to the current administration because it will result to angering the mob knowing that the new admin should do something about the problems of the country.
