Why does this happen?

I have a wicked sweet tooth. My husband not at all. I think part of the sweet tooth is I own a small chocolate business, and am constantly working with chocolate.
Plus I love sweets better than food.

I can see how that could be a temptation. We have a chocolate free household. I don't like it and my partner has a gluten allergy. It's surprising how much chocolate is made using plant that also processes some products which may contain gluten.
Hence it's often more hassle than it's worth to trawl through the small print on a chocolate label!

Hi aurorastorm,
Eating cold ice cream is a favor things I like to do, especially in the winter months. Crazy ugh? I think we all get thirsty for ice water, because of the salt in the ice cream. The explanation seems logical, because many people from all walks of life have this same problem.
I remember the homemade ice cream in the big churning bucket, with lots of ice cream salt, a necessary ingredient for making ice cream. The finished product was always worth the wait.

I have always wondered this exact same thing. Whenever I eat ice cream whether at home or out somewhere I always get so thirsty for water. It's almost like I have a craving for ice cold water. I guess the ice cream just makes us extra thirsty for some reason.
