Hi sufyan. You didn't tell us what age is the dog you purchased. It is important to know it's age, because you take different measures for different ages. So, did you buy a puppy or an adult dog? What breed is it? A boy or a girl?

There are a number of dog breeds. And each breed have different ways on how they need to be handled. There are some that are really easy to handle while others become quite a handful. A dog that barks at everyone including you, his owner, is usually not a good sign. It's a sign of aggression. And will post danger to anyone who comes close to it. The dog's temperament will allow you to see how easy or hard it will be to handle your dog in the future. I suggest you have your dog checked by a vet and be given the necessary shots for both you and your dog's safety (shots includes the anti rabies and some for dystemper/pneumonia and worm; or you can just ask your vet what he recommends depending on your pet's age at the moment). When you're done with his vaccines or shots, it will be safe enough to interact with your pet. Make sure not to tease him while he's eating his meals and playing with his toys. Try your best to pat and talk to him/her often so you'll get some connection. Though it might take awhile before you'll earn his/her trust. Remember, trust cannot be forced. So take it easy. If your pet is still a pup, then it will be easier to train him. But if your pet is already an adult.... you need to have tons of patience, understanding and time, because it's harder to train adult pets. They're stubborn compared to the pups. Good luck :)

The thing about dogs we buy especially older ones is that they have been used to other settings and will now be living a new world with you. Like any other creature, including humans, dogs are also reluctant to change. They also have the basic instinct of protecting themselves expecially when they are in an unknown environment. best way is to always be with your dog to train him on his new environment. give him a chance to explore it. be gentle and dont be too harsh on him. introduce the new things or people around him so he wont be too scared or defensive when around them. Goodluck!

First of all how old is the dog? You say you purchased it from the market? What market? Perhaps the dog was mistreated if it had been with a previous owner. What type of dog is it? I would love to help you however I need more information first. KariHart

You should take him to a reputable trainer that know how to handle aggressive dogs. I got my dog from an animal shelter and he too was aggressive initially. I took him to a trainer, which really helped a lot. I would do this quick if I were you. It would be horrible if he bit someone, especially if you care about him. Then you might be forced to put him down. Hope this helps!
