It is tough to build traffic on sites. I also own a website but I have just launched it a few days back and I was also not expecting the traffic. I think it will take some time. But talking about the hosting fee, I have a very good hosting company. I would not call it very cheap but it have just enough bandwidth and space to suite needs of beginner like me.
