Dear MyLoters, I am associated with an organization (Development Insights for Sustainable Action). We are involved in mainstreaming leprosy affected people, Uttarakhand, India. We are focusing on their economic mainstreaming through various enterprise development activities. Members of four leprosy colonies of the State (Two in Dehradun, one in Rishikesh and one in Haridwar), joined various livelihood development initiatives such as candle making, incense stick making and similar enterprises. We are carrying out these initiatives from our pockets. We were of the opinion that state government or central government would help us developing successful models. We have built the production skills among the colony members. Now they are producing very high quality incense sticks and candles. however, the raw materials cost is very his (specially in the case of candle making). We are also lacking financial support for developing marketing strategy and actually carrying out marketing related activities. We have been working for last two years from our pockets. Can any one suggest us about where to apply for the financial support to carry forward our initiatives. This is a very genuine case and we are at the stage where appropriate financial support would be resulted in few very effective models of successful economic mainstreaming of the vulnerable and sidelined communities. Please help us.

that is so nice of you to discuss about the volutary organizations. BUT, you should have started a WEBSITE or BLOG.. and given the link in your profile page too. --------------- this is violation of guidelines here in mylot. to seek donations. GOODLUCK.

Dear friend, My intension was not seeking donation. We don't take donation through such discussion or even through website. The intension was to create discussion over the issue and to seek suggestions about how there lives can be mainstreamed. We are only seeking suggestions. We are working with people who are living in extremely difficult physical conditions. We are planning to sensitize the society to take care about such human beings. Ultimately they are the part of our society. Dont you think they have rights to live on this planet. So we are exploring possibility to a long term sustainable mechanism to support them. However this discussion was just for seeking opinion about how to support them. I don't think this is against any clause of the guideline.
