What was the secret for F.R.I.E.N.D.S great success?

I'm a big fan, I watched "Joey" (wich I think all Friends fans should have supported to pass through season 2), I watched "Web Therapy" (again, fans didn't help by watching, I think the show is over), and I think no serie can beat Friends in comedy sitcom. What do you think it was the secret of its big success? -Everyone would like to have 5 friends that they can trust and have much fun, they spend holidays together, they don't ditch friends for boy/girlfriends, they are loyal, they are there for each other all the time, they forgive each other... -By the time Friends was on top, a celebrity became to have also an intersting life: it was interesting when Cox got married, but it was a real buzz when Aniston started to date (unfortunately) pitt. -They had they own world. It is good for a serie to have some sayings and manias that repeat it self, it makes us feel home. So what do you think it was the secret, these were some of mine that I think. I love Friends.

Like you correctly said, "Friends" had everything a person wants. One wants a close group of friends who are so close that they're almost a family. One wants romance in life. Ross and Rachel were the epitome of a romantic couple. The fact that Ross loved Rachel since 9th grade is extremely appealing to everyone. The show was sooo funny. One never got bored for even a minute. It was very fast paced, and the main protagonists were young 20 something fresh faces. It did help having eye candies like Anniston, Cox and Matt ;) Plus, they created fashion trends. Jen's hairstyle became such a rage! Every time she changed her hairstyle, every American copied it. They were like a phenomenon cause they balanced very intricately the demands of the viewers and kept them superbly entertained..! I was crazy about 'friends', still am. I've got most of the dialogs learnt by heart :) My favorite character is Rachel. Just love the way she carries herself, dresses, speaks... Joey is super cute too, and really funny...:)

Rachel is great I feel we have a lot in common. Wins more from life who is confident. You point was great, these were more secrets for this big success that we are always going to miss.

Yes, I adore Rachel's style and looks too, but she was not my fave character personalitywise. I thought Ross was the funniest, and that him and Rachel made such an awesome couple!

I think the biggest reason was the dialogue and the funny characters. Also, a lot of people dream of living in New York City and having great friends like them, like you said, so that probably appealed to a lot of people as well.

I'm crazy about Friends, I would always love them.. all seasons from 1-10. There are certain seasons which I've forgotten what the episodes are about, and when I managed to watch them once more, I would laugh like crazy all over again. I wonder why Friends isn't continued, it would still do good, in my opinion.. maybe for another season or something. Just for the fans.. or a movie. I think all of them individually have branched out towards their own movie careers and stuff like that. So, it would be a perfect reunion if they can come back for a season once more or a movie.. but too bad, no news about this being confirmed so far. I see nothing.. . However, on a cheerier note, we still have seasons 1-10 to relive it with. You are so right.. sometimes when I watch a certain season, I'm reminded of the events in my own life.. and it's interesting to know what each and everyone of Friends member have done in their own personal lives..

I dont really know the secret but I think that people from all walks of life can relate to each and one of them. Not to mention they're really funny and charming :D
