Hey mylotters!!
I am now currently reading 'Mission: Success!' by Og Mandino and i can't help but peek into Wikipedia and read on the life of the author. No wonder why he can write in detail about a WW2 bombardier, it's his own experience! Anyways, i've learned a lot about him through Wikipedia and i admired him for turning his life around.
how about you? Do you read on the life of the author of the book you are currently reading?
:)

I have to admit that I do like to find out a little about the author of a book - I think that it can make a difference to your perception of the book.
I read a lot of books by authors that I already know - like classics ( the Bronte sisters, Dickens, Hardy, Jane Austin etc) so I have researched all of these in the past also Daphne Du Maurier is a favourite of mine.
At the moment I am reading The Last Song by Nicholas Spark and this the second of his books that I have read.
He is a 45 year old American writer, and an acting Christian

WOW! i love classics!
back in highschool i love to read Greek mythology but in college i was into Classics!
now, ever since i knew how rich the Bible is, this is my favorite book to read.
but i'm still taking a break from Bible reading.. i'm reading Og Mandino.. his works are still inspired by the Bible anyways.. :)

I always do that every time I read some books. Last time I was reading a book by Paulo Coelho and I researched about him. I also made a research on Stephanie Meyer and J.K. Rowling when I was reading their books. I like learning stuff about the authors of the books I read.

The recent book I've just finished is "Confessions of a Pagan Nun." It's my second time to read that one, but it's the kind of book that leaves you wanting to know more. I researched the author's other works (which is what I commonly search anyway), and I look for reviews. I do this to almost all the books I read.

Yes I do research because when we read somebody's ideas we tend to know regarding his personal life. So, I like to know abot the author of the book which I read. Sometimes this feeling comes to my mind how can he write such a good book? This query makes me research about his personal life.
