When you do good deeds do you do it so that you will be pleasing to God or do you do it simply to do good deeds..What is the motive behind what you do? For me I do things everything for God and He is the reason I keep going on and it is for Him that I appraoch each new minute.

I don't think it's the opposite thing between the two. I do things good for myself to be loved by god~ God loves to see his children to love themselves.

I believe that we (christians) should do things unselfishly and when I do good things it is the sprit of God in me that helps me do good things.

I would like to say that I do all my good deeds for God, but I am human, that isn't how I work. I try to do things for God, but I do get selfish sometimes and do them more for myself.
