Holland - Third time lucky?

Before the match, I was doing a bit of fence sitting. I had picked Spain to win before the tournament began, so I was supporting them. For the dutch I had a soft corner as I felt they should have won in 1974 and 1978 for their total football. But 20 minutes into the game, I realized how much the dutch had changed. From total football to total foulball. I immediately wished that Spain should win and they won thanks to Iniesta!! Cheers! Ram

They were unlucky but they deserved to be in that top 2 teams. Sadly, they lost the game in the finals. But then again, Holland should not be ashamed of the final outcome. They have also a Cinderella finished in the process. They exceed expectations.

I am hoping that it could be there lucky year specially that they have been in this kind of situation before and they failed on those days. Although Spain (I think) is much better in terms of game plan and strategy but that doesn't mean the oranje can give another upseat to the Spaniards. Just like what they did to the samba boys in the quarters. Let's just see and hope that octuposy will be denied this time and will be wrong in his/her prediction.

sjlskl, well I guess they were really unlucky to not have won the world cup, in the 70s the dutch was really the force to be reckon with, even the Brazil have to respect them. I think it is not fair to compare the current team with that of the 70s. But this team does have luck on their side. Lets hope they are able to use it to their advantage.

Well if we go by the predictions Of the Paul The octopus. todays the day of Spain and he has proved or His predictions have been proved right. My faourite two teams were germany adn Spain at the starting of this world Cup and For me the Semi final between germany and spain was not semi-Final it was final of thE World cup for me. First i wanted germany to win the cup but the two finalists are well deserved. Between spain and holland i want holland to win . But if one is not biased then spain also deserve to win . Both teams have played excellent football. Holland have been more attacking but spain has played very rationally and their planning has been terrific.

I hope Holland to win just because they deserved it. They played pretty well in their last 2-3 matches.After all let the best team wins. I hope this will be Holland.
