People who rarely pray

When I was younger I rarely prayed to god but one day my dad got an illness called the GBS basically he got paralyzed from foot to head gradually. During those times I didn't know what I should be doing. I started to pray for my dad. He eventually got better recovering from that illness. After that i did not pray again. I don't know why but when times get really hard I guess there is nobody like god to hold onto. Am I selfish that I only prayed once not often?

I don't think that's selfish at all. Personally i don't believe in god, actually i strongly disagree with pretty much all religions, but if praying is something you believe helps in time of need then the more power to ya. I would say a lot of people pray only when something in there life goes ape. I wouldn't say that's being selfish at all. And that's great to hear your fathers healthy.

I don´t belong to any religion but I know christian prayers as I live in a mainly catholic country. I never pray but I did pray every night when my grandson was dying of cancer. I prayed "Our Father" and tried to understand the words "Thy will be done". It did help me.
