Sport Stacking

United States

Hey everyone! I'm not quite sure if you know anything about "Sport Stacking" (also known as cup stacking/speed stacking), but it is one of the greatest things that I could have ever done. Sport Stacking is a sport where opponents upstack and downstack 12 specially designed cups in predetermined sequences at lightning speed. The main goal of the sport is to have opponents race against a clock to see who comes out victorious (who is faster?). Well, with sport stacking, I managed to travel to the world championships in Denver, Colorado for the past 3 years. My first year I didn't manage to make finals in any events (3-3-3, 3-6-3, Cycle). I was determined to try harder over the course of the next year so I returned to the world championships the following year, this time, I was victorious, I managed to make finals in 2 events, even becoming a world champion on the 3-3-3. In my previous year at the championships, I managed to make finals in every single event and becoming a world champion on 2 of the events. With this I made the United States National Team. A few weeks ago, I traveled to Brampton, Canada for the Canadian National Championships. While there, I competed against some very fast people, one being the 3rd fastest in the world. In my age division, I managed to hit a world record of 2.00 on the 3-3-3. It was a phenomenal experience. I placed 3rd overall. With Sport Stacking, I have been privelaged to travel the United States and meet all sorts of new people. I have been to around 15 tournaments and have recieved lots of awards and medals for my hard work. I continue to stack and hope to be the best that I can be at the sport. Hope you enjoyed the story. What do you think? If you are still a little confused, then check out this link of me stacking at the world championships this past April. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EB1zLSpHZ4E

Excellent work! It looks like an exciting sport. Did you receive any kind of prize money for your performance, or is it more the social side of the sport that you enjoy? Competing in the World Championships, I'd imagine the line-up was "stacked"! (Apologies for that, but you know that SOMEONE was going to write it, so I thought I'd get it out the way).
