Solar Eclipse

Only a few got to "see" the recent total Solar eclipse which was visible from Easter Island and some other places. It reminded me of one that occured a long time ago when I was in the Army and stationed in Maryland, US. Of course everyone knows, or should know, that it is harmful to look at the sun during an eclipse. This one when I was in the Army occured on a weekend and a bunch of us were in the base club TV room when it occured. I was able to fashion what served as a pin hole camera with the hole in the blinds that the cord goes through and to focus an image of the eclipse on the floor. This allowed us to watch the whole thing safely.

My dad used to get slides when he took photos, and I remember looking at a partial solar eclipse through an unexposed slide. I've never seen a total solar eclipse.

maggiepie was outside her office while one was happening, and she looked down to see little "eclipse" suns on the ground from the leaves on the trees, I could just imagine what that looked like
