as i was viewing the pictures of my office mates during the celebration of our president's birthday, i noticed pansit canton displayed in the table and it suddenly occurred in my mind that pansit is always present during birthday parties. I was curious about the presence of pansit in birthdays and i was informed that it is being served to prolong the life of the birthday celebrant. that is how our ancestors have taught which is being passed through generations.

Yes, it has been a tradition to serve pansit in order for the celebrator to have a long life. (Probably, because the noodle strands are long). Come to think of it, pansit is a complete meal - carbohydrates from the noodles, protein from the meat and seafood (some like to put shrimps), and vitamins and minerals from the vegetables, which, unless it is very greasy, is a healthy meal which could help prolong life if taken constantly. Just a thought.

it's true but if you take so much carbohydrates, it could also add pounds to your body.
