I just sign up in odesk but I have a hard time being accepted in the jobs I've been applying for. They always reject me even though I have the necessary skills for the job. I haven't have a job in my history and I feel really bad about it. How can I be accepted in the jobs I have applied for? Can you share tips? I tried taking the test still nothing happens. I have laid all my skills and all I share were facts and not just made up.

I've similar case as you do. Actually, I tried a few freelance sites but face the same situation in all of them. I nearly gave up the idea of freelance job until I met Cloud Crowd (Check my website in my profile if you are interested. Sorry that due to the policy of myLot, I cannot post the link here) Cloud Crowd is a facebook application that acts like the mixing of Amazon Mturk and traditional freelance sites. They connect the employers and employees, but instead letting the employer to choose who to employ, they allow anybody to do that job. You apply and you can start working directly. They just see your work first and decide if they pay you. And this process is quick - usually no longer than one day. Another good thing is that they are not only free to join, but they also pays you every business day automatically through paypal with no minimum payout amount. This means if you wonder if this is a scam site, just try to do a task and the payment you receive the next day will be your best proof. The only bad thing is that they are still focusing on data entry work and translation work only. If you are finding other job, you need to go to the traditional one. Yet, if you are not able to find one job at the traditional freelance sites, why not give it a try? I'm sure you will love Cloud Crowd as I do.

Same situation here. The only difference is that i've sign up long time ago in 2008, thought i could easily get a job since i have some experiences but it was not easy. I have tried a lot of times but i never had my first job there. Until now i came back and try again, still have no luck but i choose to believe that i haven't tried hars enough so i am optimistic that soon i will get hire. I think i just need to re-format my profile and apply more. Have a nice day! its nice to be back here.

It's because you don't have any ratings. Once you've successfully performed your first job, it will be A LOT easier to get more jobs. This is because you will have gotten a (hopefully) positive rating, and people will trust you more. People are a bit wary of new people, especially since there are almost always experienced alternatives. Good luck!
