Whether you are old or young, I want to hear from you.
What is the worst thing that has ever happened to you?
Unfortunately my worst still affects my life in many ways, my brother passed away at the age of 22, when I was 20. It has been many years since then but I still miss him everyday, as do my parents.

The worst thing that has happened to us so far was to invest in a Time share. My partner checked the company out, and followed their progress for over two years before we decided to join. Within 6 months of our joining they folded, leaving several thousand investors with nothing, and a few employees to face the music.
The directors have vanished and several police forces are investigating. We will still be paying for this in years to come.

Memnon-
Thank you for responding, I thought a lot of people would want to discuss this, but maybe it is to personal.
Anyway, that is really terrible what happened to you, especially when you researched the company for over 2 years. Some people and companies are shady and no matter what you do they can get one over on you somehow. I have a feeling the police are not going to be able to get anyone their money back even if they find the people.

We will be in the poo for a long time over this yet. And yes, I'll admit that there are people that I would gladly kill over this- for they are worth less than a life. But my time in jail would not make up for the loss of liberty.
I had to think twice about admitting to being (some rude words now come to mind) duped in this way: and can understand why others might be reticent about admitting their mistakes- that's our nature.
I hope that I am a better man for being able to put his hand up. I know that my father would disagree, but that is another story!
If we do not share stuff like this we will all carry it to our graves alone. Carry on being a brave lady, and you will win.

Memnon-
The only thing that helps in your situation is bad karma and good karma, which I believe in. You have good karma, and it will stay that way by not putting your hands on anyone and knowing going to jail would not be worth it.
One day those people that duped all of you will get what they deserve, the hard part is the waiting around to be able to see it.
I think that is why I really like this site, I love hearing other people's stories and I feel like it takes some burdens off my shoulders.
