Can you sense it when your breath has already gone bad? :P

Okay well, sometimes, we can't, admittedly! Especially when we had just brushed our teeth a few minutes ago and still, it manages to turn bad after a while. We may blame it on the brand of our toothpaste, or lack of mouthwash, periodontal diseases, or just plain laziness when it comes grooming. Are you one of those who are so conscious that you cover your mouth each time you talk to someone?

I usually can taste or feel it and if I don't I periodically rinse water through it and I have some mints in case I eat something bad.

I also keep a mint-flavored gum in my bag, or candy to freshen it. It is very handy.

Then call me nasty cause I just love those! It burns the tongue though, but I don't seem to mind.

I know it really is! Which brand do you use? I use either Dentine Ice or some Altoids. But never a Cinnamon flavored gum, those are just nasty.

I really can't 'sense' if my breath has gone bad and I don't need to, because it doesn't, really. I was conscious about my breath when I was in high school. But my friends told me I really have good breath. I didn't believe them of course. There are times when I don't get to brush my teeth because I'm already late for class. But my friends still me that my breath still smells nice. I really don't know why I have a nice breath, I mean not boasting or whatever. I don't use mouthwash, just plain toothpaste. I'm really wondering about this myself. Hmm...

Hi Jerikjames, You probably have great breath because of the type of foods and drinks you consume. Are you a big water drinker?

Never been into covering my mouth while talking to people around me or in front. Not that because I am confident that I don't have any bad breath but because I know it don't have. Did I make any sense at all?

I don't know, but sometimes I notice it when my mouth is bad when I start to feel hot air coming out from my mouth. For me bad breath starts when: 1. Haven't eaten my meal 2. Haven't brushed my teeth 3. Have eaten bad smelling food Get meself a mint for emergency. ^_^

I can sense my bad breath about half the time; the other half my husband tells me. I have a son who has cronic bad breath and a lot of it has to do with sinus conditions. If you brush your teeth, use mouthwash, and floss and still have bad breath you most likely have a sinus infection. Take some antibiotics for 10 days and your bad breath will be gone.

Yeah, I probably have sinus infection in addition to stomach problems but I just hate antibiotics. I might go for natural means.

theresaaiza I brush regularly so I have never had bad breath as I try to eat healthy foods and not junk, no I have only good breath. the last thing I would do is cover my mouth as that proclaims to all your breath is bad also I do not like to be that close to another person they could smell anything on me, most people have a comfort zone in regards to people standing in f ront of them. most normal people do not like to have the pther person just inches from their body. So I back away a bit if someone is bent in trying to semi kiss me.no I have a good breath no problems there.

Lol at semi-kissing! Well, I unconsciously do that - covering my mouth. I also back up a bit if a person stands too close. I am very conscious of my breath that I hate hugging or kissing people for fear that they'd smell something awful from me.

I can tell, usually it's because I had garlic in my food...

I just hate garlic... I really do. But how come we can't seem to do without it on our food?

I think a lot of the time, we are the last people to notice our bad breath. I mean, our breath is not really in our line of smell all things considered. Therefore, when we release it, people who we are talking to are generally in front of us. They smell the offending breath rather quickly. Of course, there are just some days where our breath is bad and nothing that we can do to change it. Hopefully we can shield it or avoid talking to people. Still, I think we might not notice a lot of the times. Sometimes when we do, its likely because it is not only bad breath, but really bad breath that fact. I don't have bad breath that often but I have a few times and yeah, its one of those things that makes everything uncomfortable. Especially when I realize that everyone has known it but me. Talk about an embarrassment to say the least.

There are times I wish I could read the mind of the person I'm talking to so that I would know if he thinks my breath is foul. So I could run to the nearest bathroom to brush my teeth or gargle with mouthwash or just simply chew on some mint-flavored gum.

I can by following some symptoms such as when I felt I am having a bad throat or when my tongue felt dried at times. Thus, if it's on important occasions, I will have a pack of sweets (mint flavor) with me so that when I am to meet the person, I can always rely on the sweet to avoid any embarrassing moments.

Not really as I just consistently to have fresh breath, however if I am going to have close contact face to face I will turn aside as it would not be fair to breath all over someones face. However, I cannot understand how some people have bad breath and do not even take notice to it. Yuck!

Most of us are unaware that our breath has gone foul if it has gone foul. That is why I couldn't blame some people if they don't notice it. Sometimes no matter how we brush, or gargle, our breath still manages to go bad. I dont know with you but mine does sometimes.
