FIFA has given the Golden Ball award to Diego Forlan as the best player of the tournament. I want to see whom do you pick for the Rotten Egg award i.e. the worst player of the tournament. The nominations should fall into one of these categories: 1) The player should either have spoilt the fun of the game. 2) The should have resorted to cheating. 3) The player should have created some controversy or negative things during the world cup. 4) Or an utter flop at the tournament. Some of the options are: Nicholas Anelka, Luis Suarez, Van Bommel and Henry. So what is your pick for the Rotten Egg Award of the 2010 World Cup? Cheers! Ram

Nicholas Anelka - Did he even play? I can't remember! :P Luis Suarez - He handballed, that's not unfair play, it's a red card that's that. Mark van Bommel - He has an aggressive style of play but most of the players he makes a foul against react like complete wussies. When Van Bommel is training his opponents are attending drama lessons! Henry - Once again, did he even play? :P I would nominate all players of Spain and Portugal. And Sepp Blatter, he is one heck of an awful bloke.

Sepp Blatter for his bloke-headness against the usage of technology would be a great nominee. But I do not understand why you want to nominate Spanish players and Portuguese players!! Anything against the Iberians :) Cheers! Ram

Because they have a tendency to roll on the floor like complete maniacs when tackled. When the referee doesn't whistle they stand up as though nothing happened, that's the way how the Netherlands got so much cards.

Oh! you got this one completely wrong. If you had seen the act performed by Robben against Brazil. And in the final against Spain the Dutch actually escaped with much less for what they did. Mr. De Jong planted his foot Karate style into Alonso's chest and should have seen straight red... Cheers! Ram

Mark van Bommel for me. I think he was a joke this world cup, he was very dirty, making stupid, rash challenges time and time again, which, in my books falls into all of your categories. So, for me, it's Van Bommel

Yes, I think in the match against Brazil, he kicked every Brazilian out of the park, but the referee did not even book him. That was incredible to watch!! Cheers! Ram

Luis Suarez without a doubt. He ended the dreams of not just a country but a continent with his actions. I hope Fifa change the rules and in the future such actions will result in a straight red card and goal being given. Something like a penalty try in rugby. The French as a whole deserve an award for being the worst losers.

1) Anelka and Evra. The main culprit for the french revolution. 2) Luis Suarez and his declaration of the return of Hand of Gods 3) Rooney.

Yes, from Evra's point of view it was even more stupid as he was the captain of the French team. Cheers! Ram

hi ram, my pick: the one who cheated to win a match they had actually lost against brazil. yea its luis suarez of uruguay. i mean how could he do that actually,it was so clear that they lost the match but then in from of the whole world he changed the fate and crushed the hard work of ghana.though they went to semis i consider ghana won it.

Yes, I agree it amounted to cheating and cost both Ghana and the African continent a first semi final spot at the world cup!! Cheers! Ram

:) They did actually appear on the ground. Anelka for one and half matches and Henry for quarter of a match :) Cheers! Ram

I nominate Mr. Robben ... he can dish out the fouls and simulate with the best, yet he was not good enough to beat Mr. Casillas ... and he would rather berate the ref than accept that he "plays" the 'beautiful' game with an edge that cuts both ways. Better to see Puyol give it his all than a player like Ramos grab. Robben is a greate player but, like Drogba, dishes it out and whines when it doesn't go his way. IMHO Eric

Yes, especially his performance against Brazil, where as per my calculations he spent more time on the ground than on his feet :) Cheers! Ram
