Have You Ever Flown On A Virgin Atlantic Plane?

Personally, I think Sir Richard Branson is a genius and seems like a lovely, genuine guy. However, the nearest I have to the "Virgin brand" if you like is my credit card and I very rarely use that these days! I do know at least 2 people that have flown with Virgin Atlantic (one went to Barbados, the other to St Lucia) and both said they would definitely fly with them again if given the opportunity. The thing is, for some of their destinations we would have to drive down to London first in order to catch a flight there. For St Lucia and Barbados Virgin Atlantic fly from Manchester...still a fair drive away but I would insist on getting a taxi as we've had experiences of John driving with jetlag before...not ideal!! So, have you been lucky enough to travel with Virgin Atlantic? What was it like? Did you include the flight with one of their holidays? Below is a cool advert they brought out last year, celebrating the fact they were 25 years old..which explains all the 80s stuff in the ad. Sexist indeed! What rubbish. So glad it wasn't banned because I love the two comments from the guys at the end of the advert. They are EXACTLY what I imagine John would say (who would be the guy on the left) and his mate at the footy, Peter (the guy on the right). Brilliant stuff! http://www.guardian.co.uk/media/video/2009/jan/05/virgin-atlantic-ad

Yes yes but where are the male flight attendants? What incentive is there to make women want to fly?

Male flight attendants tend to be mincers!

Last year I flew on Virgin Atlantic from London to Cape Town return with my toddler son. There was a five hour delay going out due to fog. Coming home the plane was on time. I liked the comfortable seats, the on board seat back entertainment, the friendly cabin crew and the kids activity pack. Virgin Atlantic is one of my favorite airlines. The other two airlines I like most of all are Qantas and Air New Zealand. Another time I flew on Virgin Atlantic was from London to Los Angeles when I was on my trip around the world. I am an independent traveler so I buy just the flight.

Yes, I know through being on MyLot that you travel a lot and I'm so pleased that Virgin Atlantic is one of your favourite airlines. I guess you get what you pay for, right? Great value for money I should think. I hope you can fly with them again very soon.

I have never flown Virgin Atlantic, but I have flown Virgin Blue quite a few times here domestically in Australia. They are much better than flying with the other domestic airlines as the staff seem happier and the service is much better. Richard Branson is a great guy in my opinion. I have read a few of his books and I love his attitude to life. This attitude has lead him to being one of the most successful businessmen on earth and I think more businesses could learn from his example. He has instilled a sense of fun in his companies that most companies do not have. I just flew with Norfolk Air who are a small airline that only fly between Norfolk Island and New Zealand and Australia. They were great to fly with too.

Richard Branson does seem to have a lot of fun doesn't he? Surrounded by gorgeous women, usually! I read on wikipedia that it's his sense of fun that makes him push the boundaries, not always successfully but on the whole, I think his positive attitude is what brings him success, in my opinion. Virgin Trains was criticised daily when it first started (they took over the nationalised Inter City and didn't realise how bad it was) but now it really is amazing how brilliant they are. I will be travelling on one to Edinburgh with Mum in a couple of weeks' time so I'm looking forward to that. Yes, I have seen a Virgin Blue plane at Manchester Airport. Sure it was bright yellow, am I right? All the passengers going on it looked so happy. It's the same with Virgin Atlantic. My friends couldn't really understand WHY it was good to fly with them..it just was. I have flown with American Airlines and MyTravel (known as Thomas Cook airlines now) and I wasn't impressed with either, although the latter we had an upgrade so at least we had decent seats..lots of leg-room, which you need for a 10 hour flight! Is it true that Quantas don't necessarily use those huge planes like they used to?

I've heard many good reports about their service so I'm sure you will love it if you ever get the chance to fly with them.
