Scientists at MIT are developing a way that electrodes can be woven into clothing and that they will be super sensitive to light and sound once exposed to heat. The technology will eventually provide people the ability to make telephone calls, they say, through your T-shirt. Would you want to wear your telephone? Please share your thoughts.

Wow..that's pretty awesome. Would be rather static, isn't it.. LOL.. I wouldn't want to, as it might emit some forms of radiation, ha.. just kidding. Interesting news. Thanks for sharing this..

..Hi zed_k4, I think it's awesome as well. I have thought about the static part also. A lot of us have a lot of electricity sometimes emitting from our bodies, that could cause static problems. I don't think people with pacemakers could wear anything like this. A lot of questions will be answered as they get closer to introducing it to the public which is some time away. You may be right, televisions emit radiation so electrodes could as well. I would guess the wiring would have to be coated or covered in some way for protection. Might make the clothing expensive, we will see. Thanks for your response. Take care.

Thanks so much for the Br .. you are most welcome , artistry. You are right , with the emissions radiating and all that , I can imagine the clothing line to be rather expensive. Interesting discussion. See you around.

..Hi there, That's another question I would have that I hadn't thought about. How would you know there's an incoming call. So many answers will be forthcoming I'm sure. It will be years they say before the public will have access to the technology, but I hope they talk more about it soon. I guess washing or cleaning the clothing will not reduce the effectiveness of the system? Thanks, take good care.

Well, I would not like a T-shirt like that. Maybe something that is easy to take on and off easily - who wants to have a phone on all day and even night? It is already funny to see people walking around and what seems, talking to themselves.. even if they talk in their phone..

..Hi buenavida, Well, if someone could assure me that I would not be elecuted if it rained, maybe I could appreciate wearing a phone. It would keep you from leaving your phone somewhere or losing it or somebody stealing it from you. Unless they grab your shirt and run."o) How embrassing would that be? The other thought that this thought brings up is no one would know I guess that you are wearing your phone would they? Who knows? Many questions, so few answers. Thanks for your reponse. Here comes the future.

...Hi there MONEYNEVERSLEEPS, I have quite a few questions on this one, but "i think tthat it is technology at its best. The dropped call scenerio should be taken care of. Now if your body puts out a lot of electricity as some of us do, there might be a problem there. Also will the cost of the phone calls be at a huge discount because it's our specific shirt, wore on our body? I want to hear more. After all, I think that the transmission of electricity should be cheaper anyway because we all pay taxes and the electric currents are in the air, and we should not be charged for things that go through the free air. But no one listens. "o) Take care.
