help! i need all of the responses i can get. my triplets are attending aprivate christian school. they are a+ students and seem happy however one wants to play foot ball and is showing intrest in things the school does not offer. they will be in secound grade this coming year. i dont know if it would hurt them more to pull them out and put them in a public school now or wait until they are old enough to pkay sports and do it.will it hurt them to play sports with friends they are just geting to know at a 5 grade level. the school is costing me 10000.00 dollars amonth right now and will go up every year so i know one day they will need to leave .the question is now while they are young or later when they are older?please respond . i do not want to make a mistake that will hurt them. Thanks!

Well, my daughter is going to be starting second grade in just a couple of days and she goes to a public school. However, I couldn't be happier with the school that she goes to and I wouldn't change what school she goes to for the world. That said, if you feel that way about the school that your children are going to, then I wouldn't have them change schools for the activities that other schools offer. You might want to research the non-school related sports that are available wehre you live.

I think it is better to hang on until they are older before pulling them out of that private Christian School. It is while they are young that their values will be formulated and developed so that when they get older they will know how to respond to some things that might come their way.

Hiii Miss... Don't be puzzled... Don't be panicky... If the kid loves to play outdoors then don't stop him.. Although, keep a watch as to who is he playing with etc... Younger kids might get bullied by the elder kids... So make sure that doesn't happen... It is good that your kid is showing interest in outdoor games, as many kids these days love to play computer games etc... Playing outside is necessary for proper emotional and physical growth... Let him enjoy a little outside... And also make sure he studies too... A little of everything will balance it all... :) Good Luck!

If you are happy with the school leave them there and find a place for them to indulge their interests elsewhere. We have sports teams here for all ages that are not affiliated with any school and the kids practice after school a couple of days a week and have games on the weekends. If you have something like that where you are, it may be helpful. However, if you are going to have to take them out of the school anyway, I would think it would be better sooner rather than later so that they can make friends that they will go to school with for the rest of their school days so they won't be the "new kids" and have to adjust not only to leaving one group of friends but getting to know another group.

Hi - I had a similar situation with my children. If you can manage to afford another couple years (even one more year) at the private Christian School then I'd do it - only because it's giving them a little bit better foundation there than in the public school system. Even after another year they'll be more ready for public school as they'll have a great headstart at that point. At least doing 1st - 3rd grade in the private school will give them a good reading, phonics and math foundation. As far as the football and any other interests, if you can do them through a community type program they can still be exposed to them without missing the private school education for now. I totally understand the money issue with private school - just too much and it goes up a bit each year usually. Whichever way you choose to do it - they'll be okay. You won't make any mistake that will hurt them but like I said - that foundation they're getting now in private school will help them stay heads above the others when they do end up in public school.
