I have heard a lot of cases wherein women had to experience postpartum after pregnancy, some are lucky enough by not having to go through this challenging and emotional phase after pregnancy.
I am curious; is there are way to avoid postpartum, or is this a hormonal thing that can hit anyone without any precautionary measure?

Hello again Ms ip5217
You are already crowding your mind with unnecessary worries. If I may ask, are you a full time housewife or working? I am sure you are busy doing a lot of things and your husband is supportive of you. There is nothing to worry, postpartum sometimes occur because of too much worries and anxiety. Just live a normal life and enjoy being pregnant.

I'm a busy person definitely. I am just curious with this subject because I have heard a lot of incidents wherein women undergo postpartum after pregnancy. As for me, I do hope I don't have to go through that stage. I'm confident my husband and my family will always be there as soon as the baby comes. I'm always on the positive side.

I think that one of the best things that you can do to avoid having postpartum depression is to make sure that you are eating a proper and healthy diet. The reason that I say this is because of the fact that having the right vitamins and minerals in your diet will help you to keep more hormonally balanced. However, I don't think that you are able to avoid it all together. I've heard that every woman can be hit with postpartum and if you've had it after one pregnancy it may not happen again.

I know that my doctor told me to really watch for signs of it because I had a preemie and that alone can make you very depressed. I think part of it hormonal and some of it is just the stress of being a new mother. I was lucky not to get it and I still think part of it was I really didn't have time to be depressed, I needed to be positive for my daughter and I just had to keep going. I went to the hospital every day for the 11 weeks that she was there. There was a time I was starting to think I was getting it but the doctor just said I was overwhelmed. I think that it hits some people harder than other just because of the hormone changes but my hormones are messed up anyway so maybe that spared me. All I can say is watch out for it and tell someone if you are feeling overly sad or overwhelmed or just don't want to do anything with you baby.
