Muttiah Muralitharan will retire from test cricket after the first test against India. He is a legend bowler in World cricket He he the leading wicket taker in test cricket. He just need 8 more wicket to reach 800 mark. The srilankan board had already arranged some special events in connection to his retirement. Also there is a rumor that the pitch for the test has been made in favour to murali's bowling. But the board says that its a batting pitch. Murali said that taking 800 wicket is not his aim, lets see what happens.... Will the Champion spinner from Srilanka achieve the target of 800 Wicket in Text Cricket????? There is 20 wickets infront of him,he need only 8.......

Murali is a world class bowler ,the cricket world will miss him. He is the master of the spin . if the pitch is made in his favour surely he will take 8 wickets. but it should not be done . Pitch should be kept neutral. But murali deserves 800

I would think that Murali would get the 8 wickets over the next two matches. I think he will play both matches not just one match. He has been a great bowler for Sri Lanka and for the game as well. Despite repeated attempts by Aussies to call him a chucker, he has always come back to pick a bucket load of wickets. For me he is a great player and has done brilliantly over his career. Let's wish a great and enjoyable farewell. I hope Indian batsmen give him a great farewell by not allowing him to pick even a wicket :) Cheers! Ram

I heard that he will retire after 1st test. If indian batsmen are batting well it will be a tough task for murali. But i think there is no chance for Indians to do it after the poor perfomance in warm up match

Hi, This is a luck and chance matter. If looked at from one corner he should reach the target but still the chance is 50/50. And if we remember the feat of Kumble against Pakistan at Firozshah Kotla, this seems all possible for Muralidharan to grab the required 8 wickets. Lets hope he makes it to 800.

It is just a matter of luck. As per Murali's statement said he is not in a eager mood to get 8 wickets to reach 800 mark. he just think it is just another test match for him.In cricket we can predict the wickets as per our plans. The previous statistics says that Murali having a great records at Galle. Lets wait and see.

Nothing is luck!! You must have to work hard to successful your goal. He is really a great fighter and comes out from a place where bombing were made most of the time. Shortage of food, drinking water and lots more! Salute for you, have a nice retirement life ...

He has done it. He reached on the milestone of 800 Test Wickets at last after a great question that can he get the chance to try for it as rain stopped the whole play on 2nd day. Congrats Murali ...
