I am using window-xp in my c drive . Then i load vista in my d drive. After some time i remove vista from my computer. But after that also when i start up my computer it show two option window-xp or vista. then i have to select window-xp from the option. i want this option message to be removed and my computer boot window-xp normally without any option. i tried in boot.ini also but that not work because in that also there is only window-xp option available. what should i do to remove that message when i have remove vista from my computer.

Have you removed Vista manually or automatically through the wizard? If it's the former then try removing automatically. If it's the latter then that whole screen should have never come up and I wouldn't have a clue where the problem lies.

i think there are still the registry settings of the vista that still reside in your computer how did you remove vista just formatted the d drive?? if thats the case then the actual boot.ini would be of vista's that being displayed and not that of win xp you need to point that to win xp that would work
