Is education really important? I know a lot of people succeed in life. And some of them not even finished their college. I wonder why should I finished my college if I can be successful in life without going to it. I know also lot of people finished their college but still their life is the same. This question started in my mind when my nephew ask me the same question. And to be honest, I just ignore him, because in my mind he have a point their.

I think education is really important. But I also think that a degree will become meaningless if it's not coupled with hard work and the will to succeed. People who did not finish college but are successful had worked hard to get what they have and be what they are. I take it you're already in college; I suggest you finish it and I know that with hard work and determination, you'll become successful someday.

The way you talk it seems that you have finished your college. Are you successful now in life, or your still working on it?

I finished my degree just recently. So I have to say, I'm currently working to become successful. :) I'm just describing what I had observed in people who became successful.

Absolutely yes ! It applies to most normal people but not including genius or those who are very special. For most people, a college degree greatly improves a person's chances to obtain a good income job and a good life. In addition, college life itself is very interesting, I love my college years so much. I'm normal. I went to college and finished it.

I understand what you mean, normal people go to college. But, as I said before some finished their college but still unsuccessful in life. Some didn't even go to college but now their life is very successful.

Look at it like this. People without an education that succeed are because they grasped a great opportunity. And pretend you need glasses. If you need glasses, you can't see things properly. But glasses help you see clearly. The glasses are your education. Sure, you might get lucky and be successful if you barely make out the outline of an opportunity, but with the aid of education, you'll have more opportunities available to grasp.

Education is must. Though some people have not get degree they are successful it because they are experienced, talented and really want to become something in their life.To keep in mind these people regrets they don't have degree. And there are some people who have completed their college but are not able to apply the things that they have learnt and hence are unsuccessful.

Education is our stepping stone towards success. But I'm not saying that you will not succeed if you are not educated. we nedd education to be skilled, and be able to land in a job in the future.

Yes indeed it is very important entity. Each person needs to learn. The entity is one of the most important things needed for the development of each person. Without a body, man can not achieve anything in this life. To get a nice highly paid profession, and if you really want to be good at what you do, you must graduate high entity in some college. I'm still a student in ninth grade but my parents constantly repeat me how important it is to learn. In Bulgaria, to get a driver's license after 18 years, you must have to graduate the eighth grade. People wishing to drive a car, but not completed eighth grade, may do so only against the rules of the state. This is my comment to this discussion on the topic of obrazuvaniteo. I hope I helped.

Exactly, our parents want us to finished our studies. And as an act of respect, we obey. But with don't even know if will help us to achieve our goal. You have to finish your 8th grade because you need to know how to read and write. Reading and writing is important in getting a driver's license.

it really depends. In my opinion, what really matters is ability. As long as you are capable, a good job is available. On the other hand, good education can add some weight in your way of job hunting.

Ability! I agree on that.

"Education" without a moral base can be useless. There is a huge difference between knowledge and wisdom. Wisdom is reflective, demands understanding and common sense. Intellectual knowledge has nowhere to go if not tempered with wisdom. Given the low education standards in my country today, it actually can be a waste of time and effort. "Success" can be achieved in many ways, and a college degree "ain't what it used to be".

That is a good question. I have often wondered the same thing. I have a college degree and am a teacher. I do love my job, but I do not make a lot of extra money as a teacher and am still paying off college loans. My brother in law did not go to college and is making 3 times as much as I am. College is so expensive and I thing you are going to start seeing more and more people go straight to work out of high school and not go to college.

See, that's what I mean. Why should we push the kids to go to college if some of the people around us, is successful life with out going to go university. It seems that it is OK not go to college. Just know how to read and write, and that will be fine.

The answer is obviously Yes, with out it we will never be here in our current state. For those people who have finished their education who did not excel in life that means they are already contented with what they or their are not lucky enough to have given the opportunity. Even though you finished your studies in doesn't mean you will have a better life you need to still pursue to have that better life that you wanted, If you think you can do be better than those who have finished their degree then you need to prove it to them first and be an example if you want.

Education is important. I believe for those more interested in business-centric subjects, more project work and talks by entrepreneuers will be useful. Without much education, there is alot of trial and error and painful experiences. Education may leapfrong that process.

Practically speaking, education is extremely important. The things you learn in school are not only about your future job or your success. They're also for some practical stuff you wouldn't learn outside school. Of course you can't learn everything inside confines of a classroom. If you already know how something works because of your experience and could use it just fine, then it's already cool but imagine if you know why it works that way. If you could find out how and why those work and deeper, then you'd be able to maximize what you already know right? I think this is also what matters with a job. Yeah, you do know how to do your job well. You're successful enough with what you know. But wouldn't your job be better if you are an expert with what you do and you also have a deeper understanding of the theories that are behind your work? That's what education gives you. Not the experience, but a deeper understanding of the possible job you might land in so that you could maximize your full potential.

So you mean you can be expert only if you finished your college?

College is for those who are unsure what to do with their future, or those who like to keep their doors open for bigger opportunities. If you have a job, like it, and wish to pursue, there's no harm in not doing college. Bill Gates is a classic example, he knew exactly what he wanted to do in life, succeeded. He did not finish college.

All it really comes down to is: do you think you can make a living without college, or do you think it would be easier with a degree in something. People who go to college are more likely to get a high paying job, but my dad got a really good job, and he didn't go to college, and he was glad he didn't because he thinks that if he did, he would be over-qualified. It's all up to you, but if you want my opinion, I would have to say that education is important to me.

See. Your dad is even happy or satisfied not going to college. I wonder how he motivate you to go to college?

If you ask this question, It's like your asking if water is important. Of course it is important for the very reason that it is a strong foundation for a better future. With the scarcity of job opportunities today it is very important to have an edge and education is the edge.

As they always said, if you think education is expensive, try ignorance. This means that education is really very important. We just cant say that we cant go to school because its expensive. One has to do everything that he could so that he or she will be able to learn and study in a school.

Absolutely, education will not just drive you to a good future, it will also help you become a better individual in this world, not just considering yourself but all of the living. But on the other hand education itself will not work it all out, you should apply a lot of effort, strategies and actions, sometimes those who didn't go to college have a successful life, because of the hard work they did. Education will just be a guide, and it's all in our hands, if you graduate a valedictorian then become lazy, education will not take you anywhere..

Yes it is very important. I mean without a diploma you are pretty mutch setting yourself up for the streets. Then again there are exeptions, like that one guy that make 1 billion bucks off of real astate.

I've always believed that you go to college to make money, i.e. go to school to be a lawyer, nurse, programmer, accountant, or doctor. Or you go to college just for the sake of being able to have a career you love. Unless your one of the big money making degrees it probably wont finacially pay off but you might like being a web designer versus working at walmart or paving roads.
