Can the Cincinnati Reds make the playoffs in 2010...maybe the World Series???

I am a big Reds fan. It has been a long time, too long, since we have been able to discuss the playoffs as something that was actually obtainable. At All-Star break, the Reds were in first place and have the easiest MLB Schedule the remainder of the season. They are getting Edison Volques back which adds to a solid rotation of Leake, Arroyo, Wood and Cueto. Their offense is stacked, too, with Phillips, Votto, Rolen, Gomes and the suprise play of Drew Stubbs. I like their chances of a World Series appearance of they make the playoffs because they can pitch Leake and Volquez in twice ina 7 game series.

im sorry but the reds have 25% chance to be succesfull this year.i been watching there games but it looks like they woludnt be able to make it to the playoffs like all the others years ur team needs good picks to bring ur team alive for next year and i believe next year u guys might have a good team but the coach has to think and be smart. i dont think the dodgers have a chance either wat do u think ?

I agree with the coaching, Dusty Baker makes some boneheaded mistakes sometimes. The big thing they have to do is unseat the Cardinals, which is a big task. The Reds have a lot of good young talent that might just be able to catch the lightning in the bottle this year.
As for the Dodgers, I have not really kept up much on them. Any team with Either and ManRam has to have a legit chance.

I'd like to believe that this is the year that it will happen. I've been a fan of the Cincinnati Reds for as long as I've been alive (both of my parents are from Cincinnati and we also live in such a place that they are the closest major league team). If they keep up they way that they did during the first half of the season, there is no doubt in my mind that they will make it into the playoffs this year and if they make it to the playoffs I believe they will make it to the World Series.

We can be wishful thinkers, right? :) It has been a long time to where in July I haven;t already turned gears to thinking about the Bengals. It would be great to have meaningful Reds baseball going on when the Bengals are playing. I'd like to hear a "And this one belongs to the Reds" from Marty to end the World Series this year.
