Most Aussies especially those in Queensland would have heard about the woman who went missing on the night of game 3 of state of origin on the Sunshine Coast & her body was found at the Nambour dump on Thursday afternoon...I was at my friend's house yesterday which is only a 20 min drive from my house...well it turns out that the guy who has been charged with her murder lives 2 streets away from their house! I have driven past his house & he lives/d with his mom & sister! This is very scary take a look at the front page story from yesterday's (Sunday) paper http://www.sunshinecoastdaily.com.au/story/2010/07/18/family-battles-to-take-their-girl-home/

That is a bit of a sad story and it just goes to show that psycho's can live anywhere. You never know what they look like and a lot of the time they can come across as fine upstanding citizens.
I did not hear of this event as I was on Norfolk Island at that time.
I am coming up to the Sunny Coast this weekend for a bit of a romantic weekend out in the hinterland. We will be visiting Nambour at some stage to go to a herb farm there.

Thanks for the BR!
We did have an awesome weekend away up there even though it was a bit overcast and rainy. We left the kids at home with a close friend who looked after them and the house, pets, etc. It was really great to get away without them for a peaceful, relaxing time.
We stayed in a nice little cottage out the back of Maleny which overlooked a lake. It was cosy with a fire and a spa! We went out for dinner in Maleny Friday night, then watched a coupleof DVD's. Saturday morning we went to Eumundi markets, then to Shipard's herb farm in Nambour and then had a stroll through Montville before returning to the cabin for the rest of the day. A spa, then some reading and two more DVD's while eating dinner in the middle.
Sunday it was raining in the morning so we left late and went via the Maleny markets and the local dam, then a rainforest walk which was shortened by the rain. Then a scenic drive home with a stop over at Redcliffe for lunch.
A great weekend! We will be doing it again, that is for sure!

I too don't understand how/why people can do that...apparently the woman moved up here from interstate to start a new life only 6 months ago.
