i'm 49 years old now and i feel that this is true for me. i've become more interested in new ideas when i reached 40. i've also started to try new things like having a new haircut, trying out new outfits. but most of all, i've become more open to meeting new challenges. exercise is also being taken up again and eating healthy as well.

Not really. I will be turning next year and I don't expect any changes when I reach 40. I may be excited to try new things but it seems that I couldn't do much compared to when I was much younger. I always live life to the fullest.

physically, that's very true. as we age, we're not as strong as before. but then again, we can start exercising again and eating healthy. we should be taking more care of our bodies.

Yes, I do agree that life begins at 40. I am still in my mid 30's and begin thinking what happens when I reached 40. It is being said that 40's is the new 20's so age doesn't hampered us to progress in life. As we mature we become more wiser and brighter and learn to adopt progressive things in life. It should not stop us from doing things we love, age is just a number, we should age gracefully.

i think you'll welcome the 40's age when you reach it. you're right, we become wiser as we age.

Life is what you make of it. In a few years you might find that your life actually began at 50!

that's so true Qaeyious. some people just go with the flow, not knowing where thye're headed for and suddenly, they realize they're being left out. that's when they decide to do things the way they want to. and sometimes, when that happens, they're in their 40's or maybe later.

well i cant really comment on this coz m 20 at present.. but ya i must say that men start looking really very hot when they are in their 40s.. my dad is one of them and believe me he looks so smart and dashing... thats it.. rest i will let you know after 20 yrs.. wait for my response ...ookkk.. hehehhehe... but ya you are right as far as i can think about all this exercise and responsibility coz at this age u have to get ur kids married... look after ur health as u r aging so i think that must be quite adventurous...take care.. god bless you..

thanks pinky31ps for the comment. i hope i'm still around when you reach that age hehehe. and i believe you when you say that men look smarter in their 40's. maybe it has something to do with confidence. they know the've come around, hurdled many of life's challenges and come out winners. most people i think become wiser as they age.

Well that's the cliche, yes. And many people on that age say so too. But it's also the stage when some people especially men go through midlife crisis. And women premenopause!

hi theresaaiza. it's a cliche, yes, so i wanted to find out what people now think about it. maybe it's the start of midlife crisis. on the other hand, people in this age can face it positively. women have menopause while men undergo andropause.

To be honest, I really don't know the exact meaning of the statement "life begins at 40". First and for most, I live life to the fullest at the young age. I am responsible in everything I do because I have future plans. My life is what I want it to happen, so if life will start at 40 what do you call the life that I have now?I am confused.

well, Bhadine, that's okey if you can't relate to that statement. it's because you know what you wanted even at a young age. this isn't the same for me though. i've lived a sheltered life and i had so many fears while i was growing up. it was only as i age that i realized that most of the things i feared did not happen at all. that gave me the confidence to try out new things even at my age now. you're lucky that you're living the kind of life that you want now instead of later.
