If you didn't try it you may doubt it. But in fact ice cream helps. And if you drink hot tea, you will get worse. Freezing the bacteria causing sore throat kills them. I remember when I was a child my grandmother wouldn't let me eat ice cream when I was sick. But now when my kids get sore throat I buy them an ice cream and soon they are fine.

This may sound a little odd for some, but i really think that french fries goes well with Ice cream sundae, me and my family and even some of our friends, thinks that the hot french fries really went well with chocolate sundae.. This would definitely be a hit.. Promise!

I've never heard of ice cream curing a sore throat, but I know the information about hot tea making it worse is false. I'm a singer and there have been times when I've had a sore throat and drinking hot tea with honey made a world of difference like you would not believe. So I don't know about the ice cream, but hot tea DOES help. It doesn't make it worse. I've tried from experience and without it I wouldn't have been able to go on and sing because of my throat.

Perhaps in your case ,as you said you are a singer, your vocal cords are concerned. But I was talking about angina. In this case ice cream helps me. Honey and lemon are good as well. They all are natural and tasty. Better than pills.

Hi Satenik. This is a very good tip to know. It makes being an ice cream lover worth it all. The enjoyment of ice cream combined with relief for a sore throat can not be a bad thing. I will definitely haave to try this out the next time i get a sore throat.

Yes, it does help relieve is somewhat. I do not want to say cure it but it does relieve the pain a lot. The cold on the throat feels really good. I know that whenever I am sick, it gives me a lot of relief. There is nothing like a bowl of vanilla ice cream to really relieve all of the pain in my throat and cause my life to be a lot more comfortable. Given that hospitals give people who get their tonsils removed ice cream, really adds a lot to this. Ice cream does not irritate the throat to swallow a lot like other kinds of food do. Not to mention ice cream is great to eat. So it is a great thing to eat when I have a sore throat. I love ice cream and when I get a chance to eat it, even when ill with a sore throat, its always good.

I never ate ice cream when I have a sore throat but i want to make an experimentation of what you said here in the post. I think its not harmful if I am going to do that. I think its also a good reason for me to eat ice cream if I have a sore throat.

When my nephew had nis tonsils taken out he ate ice cream every day. It soothed the ache for a little while. Ice cream doesn't necessarily cure a sore throat, it just dulls the ache so you don't feel it as much.

Hi, I heard about this too from my friend, but I am not sure how true it is. Does it really prove that ice cream can cure sore throat? Since you are doing so for your kids, then I might give it a try too next time when I am having a sore throat. Normally when I am having a sore throat,I will drink plenty of water and gaggle salt water in the morning before brushing my teeth. Another home remedy is to drink ginger water. Pretty simple method : grated the ginger, put them in the hot water for 10 mins, let it cool down and drink the water. It does help and this method works for me.

I read about this and tried it once but unfortunately it didn't work for me. Maybe my case wasn't just sore throat.
