I just joined my present company a couple of days ago. The day after tomorrow a group of foreign clients is going to visit our company. My manager ask me to the airport to pick them up. I never do such a job so I feel a little nervous. I don't know how to say when I meet the foreigners.( by the way, they are from the British .) The company arranges me to take charge of the reception. Now I want to know what should I say when I meet them at the airport and the sentences when we are on the way to our company. Just like Nice to meet you , Welcome to..../ get in. Mylotter guys, everyone please give me one sentence. heehe

Hi Sirzhang, I know how you feel. I've been in this situation before. Try to be cool. First you have to greet them and introduce yourself. "Hi I'm ___ and I work for ___(company name)___ as a ( state your position)." Nice to meet you. If you have parked your car somewhere else, it is also polite to give them instruction if you want them to wait on a specific place or ask them is it okay if they will come with you to the parking lot. "I'm sorry but I parked my car not to far from here, Is it okay if you wait for me here?" Questions to ask while on your way... "How was your flight?" (you can also ask how many hours d they travel from UK to your country) "Is this your first time in ___ (your country) /here?" "I hope you'll enjoy your stay" Now on your way you can think of any topic to start a conversation. (traffic jam, etc.) You can ask if there are traffic jams in their country too.(example) You just have to have a point of conversation. Don't worry, most probably they are the ones who will ask question. British people are not too formal in conversation, you just have to be polite.

Hello sir/missus (name), Nice to meet you? How are you doing, sir/missus? *shake hands at some moment, a firm one, this constitutes confidence* Other lines could be: * Welcome to...* * How was your flight?* * Have you been in ... before?* etc etc... Don't use too complicated English. The fact that you're polite to them is enough. :)

Greet them with "Good morning/afternoon/evening name or title" Whilst you do this, proffer them you hand to shake, ensure that your grip is firm and that you look them in the eye whilst shaking hand. To look down or away will give the impression that you are shifty. You should then explain who you are. "I am (name, job title) for (such and such company), welcome to (your country) You should offer them the chance to use the facilities before escorting them to transport. "Would you care to freshen up before we go?" "May I escort you to the car?" As they are British, they probably won't mind what you say really all the best urban

I would say "Welcome to... My name is... (shake hands with each and calls each by his/her name as introduced). Must have been a long flight? I think it's best to head for the hotel now, freshen up and we'll talk again about making your stay here enjoyable (if that's the company's plan)."

Well I would say introduce yourself and the best start would be to say How do you do the british don't say nice to meet you but reply in turn How do you do after you have told them who you are. Example Goodday Sir, Madam, How do you do I am (Name) and then just make conversation about their flight and so forth. That would be a good way to go about it all.

How was your flight? Did you enjoy it? If they say no... Oh, I'm sorry to hear that. If they say yes... That's great! Let's go to the car so you could meet my boss. During the ride ask them if they have places that they plan to visit. If they don't... suggest some.
