I disagree that barbecues consist of fatty foods. I also have had problems with gall stones and had my gall bladder removed about 12 years ago and have to be careful about eating too much fat. But we eat lots of barbecues and they are really one of the best ways of cooking to get rid of fats as all the fat drips off into the coals. I always use lean meats for making my burgers and have a lot of fish and chicken on my barbecues as well as a lot of barbecued fruits and vegetables - sweetcorn, mushrooms, asparagus, aubergines(egg plant) potatoes, pineapple, peaches and bananas mainly. So I find our barbecues to be good well balanced meals and certainly low fat

that depends what your favourite foods are, and what you put on your bbq! My vegetarian bbq's are very healthy indeed, as well as delicious! Very sorry to hear about your health problems and if you want any healthy veggie bbq ideas to try just say. Sometimes just trying something new can break a habit that is being bad for your health, and small changes to the diet can make big differences to your quality of life.

some people have higher tolerance for everything that is bad for health, I knew some people who drinks everyday and smoke a lot maintain still a healthy body..I could see some folks drinking early as breakfast and take fatty foods as a side dish to what they are drinking and still remain healthy and had a longer life. There are those who always eat healthy live healthy and still developed ailments at young age..The irony is always there, but I chose to stay and maintain healthy life even if I easily developed ailments (usually the normal ones)..

We also have to consider that eating the burned part of meat, which so happens to be delicious, can cause cancer. Meat that was burned due to broiling became charcoal and the charcoal that you eat is cancerous.

When you eat time to time I don't think it will be bad for somebody. I don't think it will be good taste eat chocolates with for example carrots. If i will had operation I think ,I will stop eat fast food , but every body are different.

You do have a point, but I don't think that eating bbq is a health threat. You just have to minimize or control eating fatty foods, as well as eating a balanced diet, including foods that are rich in vitamins and minerals. And of course, you should not forget to exercise. I still think that eating bbq is not bad as long as you do it in moderation.

that good share. i could eat both and that is no problem with me. i eat with moderation not all solid protein meat sources but a mix of both would do.

satay - marinated meat bbq'd on skewers served with cucumbers and rice cakes topped with groundnut sauce.
There is a BBQ dish in our culture. It is called satay. And its marinated meat bbq'd on skewers. The dish comes with rice cakes in coconut leaves weaved to form as containers of the rice to be boiled with, cucumbers and onions and topped with ground nut sauce. All these come as a set meal. Without the cucumbers one can easily get sick from eating satay over time. We eat a lot of satay on festive occasions. I would agree that the cucumbers and onions somehow neutralize or get rid of the carbons from the bbq'd meat. It has been time-tested after all.

A friend of mine told me this before, eat less BBQ, the carbon resulted from the BBQ is not good for health. Or you can eat BBQ but you need to eat lot of vegetables. Like you, I like to eat fatty foods

Correct, eating too much fatty foods can cause high cholesterol in the blood that can also cause heart attack. And also eating over burn food can cause colon cancer but it also can be prevented by fibrous food like vegetables. We can eat fatty food as long as it is in moderation and in balance diet.

BBQ sometime poison food preparation - BBQ done not correct may cause charcoal poisoning.
Ya BBQ does cause some poisoning if the meat is burned in the charcoal fire.Carbon debris also may taint the meat.Sometime meat is not cook properly also if rushing to eat and such. And overcook over charchoal may have poisoning. Personally i believe drink good amount of water can prevent gall stone from forming.PErsonally i love to eat fried and oil stuffs But saying that i love to drink water and eat vegetables. As long as it is not too bitter.I drink like more than 8 glasses per day and always go to toilet to piss.

You really have to take care of your health pal and keep an eye on what you eat. As of me, I like to eat vegetables a lot, but still I take in a lot of fatty food. A little exercise should take care of that, I hope. Thanks for spreading the word. Take care :)
