1) Borrow the phone to call myself. From anyone that is accompanying you for the trip and if alone, the nearest public phone. The reason, hopefully if someone has picked it up, they will answer the call and return you the phone. But most of the time, the phone would have been switched off. 2) Call the service provider to inform them that you have lost your phone and ask them to temporary cut off your line. 3) Back-tracked to the places that you have been and hopefully it is still laying somewhere out there. 4) Make a police report. This is just as a precaution in case should the "picker" of your handphone did some crime and happens to leave your phone behind in the scene. You won't want police to come knocking on your door, suspecting you of committing some crime when all you did was to lose your mobile phone.

As far as blocking the mobile, call the service provider & tell them to freeze your account. You can always back track your steps to see if anyone picked up your phone. May be call the place you were shopping in & see if anybody turned in a phone. Alternate way of communications would be using public phones or borrowing friend's phone. Buying a pre-paid phone for the time. If you're on vacation somewhere, you could use hotel phones. To avoid losing the phone, I guess it's no different than trying not to lose anything. Keep it close to you at all times. When you have to use the phone, remember to put it back in your pocket or holster after using it. I know sometimes I leave it out on the table when I eating but if you're on vacation or in a place unfamiliar to you, always keep it in your pocket.

I have only lost one mobile, but lucky for me, I got it back the same day;. What had happened was it had fallen out of my purse onto the Walmart parking lot, and I nor my daughter even knew it. We went about our shopping, and it wasn't to long after that, my daughter received a call on her cell, as a woman had found it and decided to call one of my contacts, and it just happened to be my daughter. She thought it was strange that I was calling her, when I was right beside her. Well, to make a long story short, she asked my daughter if she knew me, and she said I was her mom, so my daughter went out int the parking lot where I dropped it and the lady gave it back. It just could have been someone who wasn't honest, and could have kept it. That is how I was able to get my lost phone back. Take care, and have a very good day.
