Would you?

I left the Singapore Night Safari on my recent visit recently with quite a load in my head. It wasn't because I hadn't enjoyed the experience but quite the contrary actually. And I would say I'd left for home with one question still reverberating in my mind.
It was at the cats area in front of one of the enclosures while groping in the dark as we came in from the 'light'. After keeping silence as we were told to nothing quite strange finally crept out of its hiding place in the enclosure. Thought it looked like a fox. "Now that's a Civet" our guide continued with her explanation as I began to take an interest. "Hunted for generations for their meat, it is believed that through this ingestion the SARS virus might have been introduced to humans as fecal and respiratory specimens are found in some species of the family according to research. Some perfumes were also made from the essence obtained from their glands." Amazing, I thought. "Have you heard of the Civet Coffee?" our guide continued "that is coffee prepared using the coffee cherries eaten and partially digested by these cats and harvested from their feces. Costing US$200 per kilogram it's the most expensive coffee around. How far would you go to drink your favorite cuppa?" As she turned to me she asked "Would you?"
And that is the exact the question I'm asking you?

Hi tomitomi,
I just heard about this "cat coffee" in the news today and to be frank, I thought it was quite disgusting. They have even urged the farmers to clean the coffee beans before they are being ground, makes me wonder about the hygiene level of those farmers. Would they just be concerned about making profits and disregard the health of consumers?

Like what I said too in one of your recent posts, suddenly there is too much Civet Coffee around for me. And that includes the clip in the news and would you believe that someone actually offered to sell me? The price, talking about the hygiene and now there's this for sale...

I'm glad you had a good vacation at Singapore.Yes,what you have raised is a very sound question. To what extent would one go to drink a cup of coffee or possess any other such
luxurious items?I don't think i would opt for a cup of coffee which has leave alone undergone such a process but costs a pile.I don't think its worth spending so much for this rare coffee.

I thought I was reading the beginning of a novel lol You typed it out like a story.
Glad you had a good time in Singapore.
As for the question. I am not a fan of coffee so I wouldn't do anything to get a cup of it lol.
