It's just some ice cream and milk and flavour. Example flavours are oreos, chocolate muffin, skittles, daim, m&ms and loads of other flavours. You can put a flake on the tip and marsmallows but personally I put none. My favourite is Oreo.

I think the ice cream in a milkshake is just as a compliment, so that it seems so viscous and delicious. The main ingredients of the milkshake is the fresh milk it self that blended with additional ingredients such as condensed milk, sugar and vanilla. And finally you can mix other additives to create the flavor that you wants. For example; chocolate or fresh fruits such as strawberry, orange or banana. But most of the restaurants that make milkshakes instead relying more flavors of the ice cream instead the milk. They use the famous brand of strawberry ice cream as the main ingredients to create a delicious strawberry milkshake. :)

in a blender put two scoosp of ice cream ( whatever flavor you want) one cup of milk and a generous amount of flavored syrup ( something that goes well with the ice cream you use) blend until smooth and pour in a glass...thats it...enjoy!

I have made milk shake a few times, and it is basically milk, blended with ice cream and any fruit or other flavor you would want to have in it. I am pretty sure that's how restaurants make them as well, but not 100 % sure.
