The headline today screams that the government does not consider this a water crisis yet. Lacierda says that they are taking steps to handle the water shortage (your term seems better). They do not want to declare a state of emergency yet and are counting on the rains to come.
Even though the media has blown it out of proportion, the reality is that there are places with water shortage. We need typhoons to add to our water supply. In the meantime, the government has to increase the number of tankers that supply water to waterless areas. Hopefully the typhoons will come soon.
Our government needs to lay down long-term solutions to this problem. For an archipelago, it is really ironic that we are having this problem.
